I've never heard of this before! I saw the rest of your rips! The sprites are pretty weird looking. But where can I find the video of this strange piece of media? |

Haha, yeah, I get what you mean! Don't worry, no offense is taken at all. These are just rips/recreations; these sprites aren't custom-made by me (aside from anything with a pink background, although some of them are recolors). I believe their reference was the SMB3 game running on a TV, so they couldn't just use the raw data since A) I doubt tools like YY-CHR existed back then and B) Nintendo wouldn't give them the data. Sure, the sprites could've been more accurate, but I doubt they wanted to spend too much time on them since they were making a tech demo to send to Nintendo. Had Nintendo green-lighted the project, I'm sure they would go back and refine the graphics. I'll admit, though, I quite like the sprites as they are. The bootleg look is charming and provides a distinctive and slightly iconic appearance. I think they would be fun to see in a joke game! |
