I wrote a review in which i have played the game on my brand new Windows XP Desktop. I have said that it is below average due to the wonky level design, lack of sfx, and some questionable design choices.

Image of the Wonky level design on my Windows XP Desktop:

However, when i got the chance to play it on my High-end Laptop: The levels were normal. There were also no mentioned requirements so it begs to ask if this was tested throughout or not. I'll have to revise my review to exclude about the level design before it gets accepted.

And no... The speed is actually a bit slow. It's not very very slow but the screen of the game draws so much in some levels to which it does drop the frame rate of the game.

One more thing: If your game gets critiqued on, take the time to skim/read the review before you go deleting them. Now i don't care whether you're the owner of MFGG or just someone in the quality control department but criticism (either form) does help in ways to which you can improve on. Even harsh criticism at times could build a small path to something you might have not checked upon.

And if your excuses are to go blame others and their PC's on why the game feels slow while my Laptop runs the levels of the game normally in comparison to a Desktop (Which is brand new and installed with several graphics drivers as well as DirectX and Windows XP), it shows how un-optimized your game is and this is just a fan game.

Just because a game has a similar mechanic to another game doesn't make it a bad game at all and shouldn't even be pointed out as part of a review. That's just nitpicking and it's very wrong to do for such a Mario fan game.

You might as well downgrade every modern military first person shooter since they look similar to games like Call of Duty and Battlefield. Geez...

I actually like this game. It's like Mario but tries to implement some Call of Duty style into it. In my opinion, it works. It does feel paced but it's only just a playground which really doesn't seem all that fun. If it had objectives or something that would have kept me going at the game, i actually wouldn't mind playing the game more.

I can't get past the 1st area because whenever i get the key, it blocks the previous path and opens up another path which is a room that leads me to nothing and i can't escape.

It just counts down the timer to my death, resulting in me losing all the coins and the key that i need to progress to the boss area.

Game Maker kept reporting an error around the "goldgot" variable. Everytime i ignored the goldgot variable error after completing each level, it wouldn't give me the new vehicle i unlocked to play with or it would not mark the levels as if they are completed already.

Have you play-tested the game fully or did you publish it based on one of the levels?

I really like the idea that you expanded on this WarioWare mini-game but execution-wise: I'm not really seeing much interest into it. It feels bland and frustrating at the near end.

I'll write a review soon to explain why.

As for Chuck you, if you avoid the german dude (which was completely inappropriate and unnecessary): It's a fun and challenging game. The use of the football and the baseball both speak in their own words. The football by far is the best idea/tool in the game. The physics placed on it is amazing and it actually builds a fun challenge :)

It's worth at least giving it a try.
(Also, please avoid inappropriate things such as the german dude you inserted in the game. It will really put you in a bad position and poor reputation within the community)

It's too unforgiving. I understand at times there needs to be difficulty in video games but Luigi's quest for nothing is "stab-in-the-throat" difficult rather than the difficulty in the game to slowly evolve throughout the levels like it does in the classic Mario games.

Also, when you die and continue your game: It starts you off with 0 lives and Luigi is shrink'd to his small self, making some levels extremely difficult to pass.

The air bubble concept is good on pen and paper but rushed execution here. It depletes way too fast. Also, in some of the levels (Like the space one shown in the picture): There are blocks that are placed randomly and make it difficult to pass through. Because of these two issues, I had to load up my save file at the moon stage several times.

The only two ideas i can actually give credit where it's due are the storytelling through Luigi's notepad and the idea of one level where it was all blank and you needed the coins and light switches to guide you.

Had the difficulty been toned down a bit, i would have actually given a really good review here. Unfortunately, while the polish is there: the difficulty, level design and mechanics still needs some fixing/toning.

Too simple.
I love the sound effects though. Adds a depth of immersion to the game :)

Kind of looks like you took the Charisma 4 engine you made and slapped it into the game as a whole.

The in-game jokes aren't funny, the storyline makes no sense except to those associated with the story, and the gameplay is your typical platformer.

One thing i can give credit to is that the engine, as Charisma 4, is very solid. For a platformer that's using The Games Factory 2 as it's engine: It's really good.

However, it doesn't convince me to whether or not i want to rate this a really good game. The engine is solid but everything else feels like a blatant mess. Sorry if it's not your expectations to hear such from me but i hope you can be serious and work with this engine to make very good games with it.

One thing i don't recommend is letting it become open-source. People will use it as level editors and slap their own sprites on it.

You patched up a 10 year old platformer. Why?

WHAT???HELLO ENGINE 4 LITE?????

STOP POSTING IN CAPTIAL LETTERS. IT DOES NOT MAKE YOUR POSTS MORE IMPORTANT THAN OTHERS.

As for engines, There's limited options. I can't say which engines are there that use only Game Maker lite but you have to probably dig deeper in the How-Tos and see if you can come up with any luck

I was going to review it but there's this one problem that while i'm playing the game, Suddenly Mario can't move at all or he just runs in one direction without being able to move or jump at all. I constantly tapped the buttons to see if it was an issue but it keeps happening repeatedly.

Thank god this feels more like an actual game than the first three. Playing those now included in the game were a blatant joke.

The platforming is solid, the graphics feel original, and i didn't encounter any major issues that ruined it. The only minor issue i encountered was this invisible ghost enemy that's nearly impossible to hit or escape from.

While it is short and just one level, it's a good game. If it drops the stupidity and becomes a full fledged game in the future: I'm willing to play it and probably give it a strong rating.

Although, since this is short: I highly doubt that would happen. Great job though :)

It feels too simple. I don't have hate for it but it doesn't really feel unique, to be honest.

What does this have to do with the Mario franchise?

Edit: Nvm. I spotted Shy Guy in the picture.
Guess i'll give this one a try...

Both a unique and fun idea all executed perfectly (Except for a few freeze issues).

I'm amazed. It's by far one of the best Mario Fan Galaxy Games i have ever played :)

Like a player select, perhaps?

It could be like Mario Tennis, that also doesn't have story.

Player select doesn't improve physics. What he means is to fix/tweak several mechanics within the game to make it feel more lively.

I for one liked this game 70% of it. I loved some of the new gameplay features in between and how they made the variation nice. However, everything else kind of ruined my experience with the game and i had to use debug mode once for this level that i can't get past 5 times in a row because of the hazards and too many open holes.

I'll probably review it when i get the chance. It's not the best i have played but it did give me something to enjoy at least.

Alright. I don't mind some negative criticism. It's what I learn from. Also, I meant to say that it's my fault that it's indicated so poorly. I could not think of a way to convey that, at all.

Just a suggestion but in case you're fixing this or making a sequel: Maybe a tutorial level before the Main game would help?
