Toad and the Ancient Keys

Legend tells of an ancient treasure hidden within a temple. Play as an unnamed toad as he attempts to get his hands on this treasure. But be warned, any treasure worth having is usually guarded well... Toad and the Ancient Keys is a small metroidvania game that I created for a Super Comp. This particular version includes enhancements such as tweaked level design, a save feature and configurable controls. Enjoy. [The game has been updated to v1.2] This version contains the April Fools Demo Mode and several quality of life improvements such as proper textboxes, cryptic hint dialogs, adjusted sfx volume and more.

RaymanFan1995	It's a short Metroidvania platform game that's easy to play, easy to beat, and easy to understand. Unfortunately, because of the game's short length, it's the kind of game you play once and put away for a while, and it's hard to write a thorough review of something like this due to the fact that there's not really much to work with. But overall, a cool game that's worth a download.	9 / 10

As a bit of a blanket response to all reviews... Yeah, I'm in total agreement on the length. The game was planned to be a decent bit longer, but I ran out of time for the contest. I decided to keep it mostly intact for this version (with the exception of removing some problematic areas).

I think it was good, although a bit lacking in polish and I was expecting a boss or two given the "guarded well" bit.

Just saw this 30 minutes ago and decide to play it. Had a fun time. But spin jump is little awkward for me. Lost many times...
