General Commentary and Game Overview
Normal Super Mario World is a triumphant return to the long-lost "Normal" series which takes the classic Mario vibe and completely flips it on its head. The game starts off like any regular Mario adventure—until Mario bumps into a fuzzy. Then, bam, things go totally off the rails! The world becomes a trippy, fever-dream-like place, full of strange enemies, funky visuals, and bizarre sound effects. It’s the kind of game that makes you think, “What did I just play?” in the best way possible.

+ Sound design is on point — every sound feels like it fits the chaos and its comedic timing.

+ The first level’s ending? Hilarious. A perfect mix of visuals and sound.

- Mario’s feet sometimes get stuck in the ground, which is a bit annoying.

Impressions
Gameplay
9 / 10
Normal Super Mario World mixes the classic Mario gameplay with weird, out-of-left-field events, and it totally works. The platforming feels familiar, but the game throws in enough bizarre twists to keep it feeling fresh. The enemies and level(s) are fun, and you’ll never know what to expect next! The only downside is that the hitboxes can feel a little off at times, and Mario's feet occasionally glitch out in the ground. But honestly, it’s just a fun and well-paced comedic (pardon the pun) trip.

Graphics
10 / 10
The visuals are honestly a big part of why this game stands out. The “fever dream” effects that kick in after Mario awakens the fuzzy lord are mind-bending in the all the best ways. Everything looks strange and colourful in this crazy, surreal, and up-to-date modern way - and it fits the theme perfectly. The overall design is so weird but somehow cohesive, and it’s impossible not to be impressed by how unique it feels. This game definitely doesn’t look like anything else, or at least it is a solid step above!

Sound
10 / 10
The audio is a total standout. The soundtrack is so catchy, and the sound effects are absolutely spot-on. Every weird little interaction has a sound that fits the chaos of the game. The sound design is top-tier, making everything feel even more immersive. The music will probably be stuck in your head for days, in the best way possible.

Final Words
10 / 10
Normal Super Mario World is a true return to form. It's a trippy, wild ride that takes everything you think you know about Mario and twists it into something totally (un)expected. The game’s visuals, sound, and overall weirdness make it a really unique experience. Sure, the demo is short and acts as more of a teaser, but it gives you a taste of what’s to come, and it’s enough to leave a lasting impression. If you’re looking for something different in the Mario fangame world, this one’s a must-try. You won’t regret it!
