Super Mario Land: Luigi By: KingGeoshiKoopshi64 [E] [W]
To celebrate the Game Boy, Super Mario Land and Princess Daisy's 30th Anniversary, I released a Super Mario Land ROM Hack of the original game but featuring Luigi instead which is basically "Super Mario Land done right"! These Luigi sprites were made for my ROM Hack but I decided to release it as a sheet to make the 30th Anniversary a bit nicer. It includes all frames of Luigi, comparison of Mario and Luigi's sprites and I also included the title screen as a bit of a bonus!

While Luigi does seem too little similar to Mario's sprite. I tried my best to make it look "Luigi" as possible as he has the characteristic long neck and is stretched one pixel forward in width to make him a bit skinnier and seemingly tall in illusion.
It was impossible to make Luigi even at least one pixel taller due to the games more complex code since most sprites in tiles are at 16x16 in max. I can promise that the sprite is NOT Mario's original sprite. Even Small Mario and Luigi's Map Sprites are the same sizes to each other in Super Mario Bros. 3 (All-Stars, SNES) where Luigi's body was thinner and chin was covering between the two straps so the developers wouldn't waste storage space to give him a save and also be less work. So since the Super Mario Land Sprites are small this trick was the best way to add Luigi into Super Mario Land.
