Pros | + The music's decent? |
Cons | - Awful gameplay - Incredibly repetitive levels - Lots of bugs |
Gameplay 3 / 10 |
The engine used is the default Clickteam movement, and you can REALLY tell that here. You get stuck on everything all the time, the hitboxes are entirely nonsensical, and it's overall just awful. Speaking of getting stuck on everything, despite there being an HP system in the game, it's still very easy to die to "one hit" due to being unable to escape from the grasps of enemies because of the awful hit detection. The level design is incredibly middling as well. Most of the levels basically feel like the same thing over and over again, punctuated by there being lava in almost every level. Did Bowser have a lava spill or something? There are also all kinds of weird bugs and oddities here and there. One of the funniest is definitely how you simply can't interact with some enemies after certain points in the game. I guess Mario made a sudden truce with the Koopa Troopas? |
Graphics 6 / 10 |
There's a lot of style clashing, cutoff, bad animations etc., but the graphics are also kind of charming in their own way. |
Sound 6 / 10 |
Pretty typical midi selection, but it's not bad. Some of the sound effects kind of are, though. |

Unless you're a connoisseur of olde-timey Clickteam fan games, I'd give this one a skip (and even then, I'd consider). |
