Pros | + The graphics and music are decent + Very "early 2000's" feel |
Cons | - I have no idea what I'm actually supposed to do |
Gameplay 3 / 10 |
There are so many problems here I don't even know where to begin. First of all, I don't even understand how you're supposed to "win". If I collect coins but then die, my score is reset to 0. If I get to the end of the "level", it restarts and my score is still reset to 0. I have absolutely no idea how I'm supposed to actually place on the leaderboard. There's also the fact that Toad's acceleration and deceleration are completely out of whack, meaning that simple jumps between platforms become annoyingly hard. Furthermore, the small resolution means that trying to collect the falling coins often becomes an exercise in frustration. |
Graphics 7 / 10 |
The graphics fit together well, and all the weird early 2000's Photoshop effects really add to it. |
Sound 7 / 10 |
The soundtrack is alright (especially since it's a 2005 game but somehow doesn't have a single generic Mario midi in it), and the voice clips are pretty fun. |

A fine example of why you should actually explain what to do in your game. |
