I know you meant well when you made this, but it's a BIT glitchy. Try and remove some of the obstacles, such as the GIGANTIC firebar and maybe let Mario jump higher than the enemies.

Besides, remember that I'll be putting in an Easy and Beginner mode in the final game. |

I like the fact that you were creative with your use of the Hello SMB1 Engine. However, the game is quite frustrating, as you can barely jump higher than the enemies. And much of the challenge comes from enemy "spamming" and level design flaws like forcing players to get hit before they can enter a small gap. The graphics could use some work, too. Just keep working on it and you might have something interesting - as long as there aren't babies and balconies involved.

Yeah, get the jumping thing fixed and then it'll be more interesting. :)

If I were to put in the traditional SMB jumping, then the challenge decreases, the springs would become pointless (Most of them, anyway), and the 1up secrets would be too easy to reach. 2. Easy and Beginner modes won't have any force hits. Think of Normal mode as a MegaMan kind of difficulty, if you know what I mean. |

Not to be mean, but did you even TRY to make this game good? It's like you just pulled it out of your ass and show it to people. >.< I mean, the jump height is rediculously low, most the sprites are ugly, and enemies try to kil you as soon as you start the level. |

Okay, that proves you never played it even at all. I think I have explained this in the DESCRIPTION and the COMMENTS. Do I need to show it in front of your face any more? It's like you're one of those people that would just play a game for about 10 seconds and then claim if the game were to be bad or good. I mean seriously. Next time, you play a game, actually PLAY it. |

You could be a little nicer, it might be his first game. Also I believe he's referring to this: Quote Don't worry about the fact that you can't jump as high as in SMB. You can still stomp on enemies.

Quote (SMBMM on Feb 15 2011, 4:11 PM) You can still jump on enemies though T_T BUT IT'S WAY TOO RIDICULOUSLY HARD TO DO. Fix the jumping, and if it "Makes the 1-up secrets easy to get", then fix that. Make them in a different spot that's hard to get to when you can jump high. |

The "challenge" of the game comes from things it shouldn't come from: frustratingly low jump height and enemy spam. :U There's also lots of little bugs like jumping off of trampolines through walls, stomped Shy Guys becoming Goombas, etc. |

And the low jump is something to get used to. |

Yo dudeski,i played you're game, and i did not like it. you jump hilariously low, and i hate to sound like a douche, but saying "you can still jump on enemies" isn't saying anything, why? let me tell you, it doesn’t matter that we can jump on them, what matters is that it's ridiculously hard to jump on them. Most of the jumps are just plain awkward. And to consult the Shy Guy thing, it doesn’t maker any sense, I’m sorry, it just doesn’t. The level design hurt my eyes a little, and (again, not trying to sound like a douche) it could use some ironing out. I’d suggest making Mario jump atleast one more block high, change the Goomba-in-drag to give it an actual stomp sprite, or just make it a different goomba all together. No hard feelings.

Fyi the description the author was talking about is the in-game description of enemies that you can read it says something along the lines of "The shyguys are goombas with costumes that moonwalk"

Well....I'm clearly defeated in the debate of the jumping.. Okay, I will try to make Mario's jumping a bit higher. However, not high enough to ruin some of the elements of the game. EDIT: Now I think you might be more pleased with the final game now that I made Mario jump a bit higher. |

Quote (TheRocketCake on Feb 13 2011, 7:03 AM) this is actually his 102 game, so you're dead wrong on many levels. EDIT: alright, i played a private demo, and he did improve the jumping, the jump is now a block higher. but thats really all i could see that changed. |
