General Commentary and Game Overview
Here we see the humble Goomba. Watch, as the predator approaches, and we see nature at work.

EAT BERRIES SON GET THESE BERRIES IN YO MOUTH YOU WANT BERRIES I HAVE BEERIES BERRIES BERRIES BERRIES

To be honest the game plays like a usual game, moreso than a joke game. As usual, "Funny = attracts Blutorus", so I'd naturally be inclined to give this a shot and my opinions. So get ready to ride high on your Awesome Bills, 'cause we're looking at A Typical Day!

Pros +Somewhat serious gameplay
+Q-Nova graphics
+Sounds are decent

Cons -Takes far too long to get back in the game (literally)
-The boss is a bit too difficult
-Doesn't really get any laughs out of me
-Very small replay value

Gameplay
5 / 10
The controls are good n' dandy enough. You have your usual run and jump, but you also have the ability to pick berries off of bushes and throw them at your enemies. You also have 4 hit points, which may burn up quickly if you aren't that careful, but you have an incredibly generous invincibility time.

There are various gimmicks that spice up the gameplay, too. Shortly through the level, you catch a ride on the Awesome Bill and blow off some Steam(s) at various Pikachus. Be sure to move around them or your Steam won't be good for nothing. Ow!

Well, while I have my invincibility frames up for an overpowered amount of time, I suppose I'll talk about the humor. I did find a few parts funny, such as the seriousness warning during the beginning, but the rest of the game didn't make me laugh that much. And the serious seriousness warning of seriously seriousity (seriously?) would come back to haunt me, but more on that later.

Shortly after the encounter with the Pikachus, you head on over to a brick bridge with a Bob-Omb chasing you down. The platforming seems fine at first, but later on you have to be pretty precise: one wrong move and you're dead.

WARNING! THE PARAGRAPH ABOVE CONTAINS SPOILERS!

Oh! I guess this is the perfect time to discuss a major issue I have with the game: the time it takes to get back into the action. When you die, you go to a game over screen for a good chunk of time, wait as the screen slowly fades to black, go through the "Quinton Land" scene, press Shift, get your mouse cursor out to click "OK," and THEN you're back in the game. That, coupled with the fact that there aren't any checkpoints and average level length, makes the game uncomfortable to play at times.

I'm not self-inserting my games into this, but compare this to Toad's Typical Day. In that game, when you die, you spend no less than 5 seconds watching Toad spontaneously combust until you're given the opportunity to try again. All the levels are also much shorter, too.

Anyways, back to this game and its boss. I won't spoil what the boss is, but it's a nightmare to beat him. He'll spawn lots of projectiles and hazards that you need to avoid, again, something tangible at first but becomes bullet hell near the end.

...and that's as far as I got. I would've gone a little further, but I didn't have the patience to do so after the lengthy game overs. All in all, Goomba: The Game holds up pretty well.

Graphics
8 / 10
Goomba's Typical Day has Q-Nova's graphics written all over it, much like in all his other games. All the enemies do sport a different style than the rest of the game (and every enemy has a different style than the others, too), but the clash adds some sort of charm in the long run.

Sound
6 / 10
You have your usual New Super Mario Bros. Wii music with NSMBWii and SMW sounds. I guess this wouldn't be Typical: The Movie: The Game without your typical sound effects.

Replay
2 / 10
I haven't beaten the boss and I honestly don't know what lies beyond, but there hasn't been any documentation that there's more to The Typical Goomba afterwards, a common threat to a joke game.

Final Words
6 / 10
Goomba's Usual Adventure (known as A Typical Day in MFGGern countries) has its moments and is ultimately an okay game. It's worth a shot if you like to laugh at anything.

Thanks for the review! My sense of humor doesn't really agree with joke games, so that may be why you didn't really get any laughs. Also, I thought the boss was a bit too easy, but I can now see what you mean. Would making the boss a little harder when it's down to it's last health point, instead of everytime it gets hit be a little better?

Yeah, that'd be much better.
