General Commentary and Game Overview
[HARSH REVIEW INCOMING, ALSO THESE ARE MY OPINIONS]

I'll admit, I'm not the biggest fan of joke games anymore.

Yes, I know that I just submitted Mario Remastered, another joke game, how can I dislike joke games when I've also just made one??? Well, it's not all joke games. It's the type that's like "do bad platforming to get a few jokes". You know, the ones with bad graphics and funny midis. It's just such an overdone genre at this point. We had Waligie, we had Charisma, we had Turd Feast, we had Mr. Pence... So many game series that play so similarly. Yes game series, all those series got like more than 5 games. 5 fricking games! And they all play like carbon copies of each other, maybe except Turd Feast. I'm just sick of them at this point.

And yes, there was a time when I really enjoyed such joke games, like Waligie, or Mushroom Pancakes. Heck, I'd say that Mushroom Pancakes actually still stands out to this day despite fitting this whole "do bad platforming to get a few jokes" genre. I can't precisely pinpoint why though. It just feels... special? Does that make sense? Like it's still funny to this day, it doesn't entirely rely on the cliches of this genre. Not to mention that it had a unique style, a unique charm.

This game has none of them. What makes this game stand apart? Nothing. Are there any exceptionally funny jokes too? Not really. It's not that the game is unfunny as a whole, I thought some of the jokes could get a chuckle out of me if I wasn't so tired of this genre of games. But yeah...

Misteryt1, it's not that you did a bad job with this game, for what you were trying to do this is an ok attempt. Just for the love of god try to do something different next time.

And yeah I didn't play this to the very end. I'm sorry I could take it for so long.

Pros + Some of the jokes were kind of funny.
+ Callum's voice will always be funny to me that's for sure, what a legend.

Cons - There isn't anything that sets this game apart from other joke games.
- None of the jokes were exceptionally good.
- It's painful to play and that's not enjoyable.

Gameplay
1 / 10
I don't get why so many joke games rely entirely on bad platforming for gameplay.

Multimedia Fusion's default platforming physics is terrible, yeah, and I guess that would be funny for the first time but... Yeah lol at this point it's not funny and just... bad.

The level design has 0 effort put into it, as expected from joke games and I guess there isn't anything else to say.

Graphics

Bad is funny.

I like the fat Mario at the beginning so I will give an extra point for that. Otherwise, I have nothing extra to add, I've already said all I felt like I had to say in the first section.

Sound
2 / 10
The music was probably the funniest part of this game. I like some of the music used, like the one for Giant Mario. And uhh...

That's it I guess...

Yeaah...

Final Words

I hope we leave these kinds of games at 2010s.

I've actually been thinking of making something different recently, as I've begun to get tired of making platforming games. The problem is that I simply have no ideas.
Also, how long have you played this game for? It sounds like you've only played the first two levels, I recall putting a bit more effort into the third level (or at least spending a lot more time on it).

I found it odd you how mentioned Mr. Pence along with the other joke games, that series eventually got so serious that I couldn't even call it a joke anymore (though a lot of the more serious games would end up being scrapped).

I think I quit at the 3rd level actually? Not sure.

And I did play a little bit of "Mr. Pence's Last Penny" and uhhh, if that's a serious game for you then maybe you're underestimating the quality standards for fangames these days lol. It felt like another joke game to me.

By "third level" I meant the level that comes after Richopolis' boss.
Also, by "serious game" I meant games that have a more serious story, rather than something that's actually attempting to be good. Mr. Pence's Last Penny was definitely not a serious game. In fact, the only "serious" Mr. Pence game that actually got released was Mr. Pence Travels The World. (which wasn't really a good attempt at being serious at all).
