Koopa Troopa (Paper Mario) By: E-Man
These guys even put up a fight for me throughout the whole creation process, so it's no wonder Bowser keeps dispatching these guys throughout the Mario games! Still, it all worked out in the end and I hope you lot have as much fun animating these as I am!

UPDATE (12/23/17) - I added a new neck to the bunch.

All of these Paper Mario characters seem to have some "low poly" thing going on, where their hands and such have fingers that come to a point. Is it supposed to be like this?

Yes, the angular look is intentional. That's not a problem, is it?

No, not a problem at all. I just want to know why you chose that way of making the characters.

Believe it or not, the art direction is based on an old "drawing" style from more than a decade ago. Due to my lack of experience with Adobe Illustrator's pen tool, I didn't quite get how curves work. As a result, my images were rather polygonal. More than a year ago, I ran into a tough situation with a previous art direction. In the end, I took the old art style I abandoned and modernized it.

I also think it looks more "cardboard-y".

Hm, you're the second person who pointed that out. You don't have a problem with it, do you?

No, I mean, it's Paper Mario: it's supposed to look "cardboard-y".

Oh! Right! Thanks for clarifying!
