Super Mario Bros 3 Yoshi By: hdtv
If SMB3 came out before SMW, wouldn't SMB3 Yoshi look like beta SMW Yoshi since that design is older? Well, that how I made him look.

Now about the game I said I was going to release. It is taking a lot longer than I thought it would (mostly because I have a short attention span). I am making progress though. I have completed Mario's move set and one enemy. I am also almost finished with the ground theme tileset. I hope you peoples will stay tuned for the demo or more news about my game or sprites and tiles I will release from my game. Oh, by the way, the game is called New Super Mario Bros - ALATIDNWTE (this may be changed though).

I feel like the two colors of the last two yoshis should be switched. But good idea with the design!

I did that because Yoshi uses Mario's color pallet. If I switch them, Yoshi would need two sets of sprites. I did the pallet thing because that is what I thought Nintendo would do if Yoshi was in SMB3. I tried to have limitations since it is the NES.
Edit: Also HAPPY NEW YEAR!!! :D

Just curious, what does ALATIDNWTE stand for?

Back on topic, the spritesheet looks good, but I'm not really liking the colors used for Hammer Mario/Luigi & Yoshi.

Using the beta SMW Yoshi for this is a great touch, it reminds me of that sketch Miyamoto made for a dino-like creature Mario was riding as it looks close to the old design.

Giving Yoshi palette limitations based on the form is a great touch. But I'm sure Nintendo would've still kept his color green (or whatever color they would've planned) with each power-up somehow.

-It didn't affect the Goombas Shoe when Mario or his power-ups rode it, yes the shoe is covering Mario and it's a separate sprite but it still wasn't affected.

-Super Mario Bros. 3 Mix an SMB3 Hack actually no joke has a working ridable Yoshi, despite Nintendo not being able to do it themselves and no matter the power-up it still kept staying green despite Mario's sprite layer going over him.

But either way, I'm sure fangames easily and hackers somehow can still keep it green no matter what form he has.
Got any plans for an SMB1 version and potentially an All-Star SMB3 version? Maybe even including SMB3 Toad and Toadette with riding poses? (which would include blue and pink Yoshi)

The tan is matching with Mario's skins like the other palettes are for Yoshi's white colors and white is Hammer Mario's shirt for Yoshi's primary skin, NES wise and of course, black armor is the outline. That's actually what would happen if Hammer Mario was riding Yoshi if color limitations were used.

That means switching the Hammer Mario's color palette would affect the color palettes of other forms and Yoshi too. So pick your poison.

the best solution is to make Hammer Mario have normal skin but he was given tan to have a better contrast in levels.

ALATIDNWTE stands for "a long acronym that I do not want to explain"

I guess I did overlook the Goomba shoe.
I know about SMB3mix, and I know it had Yoshi, but this is just what I think Nintendo would have done, not what is possible.
I think a SMB and a SMB3 all stars would be a good idea, I might even do a SMB2 one (but I am bad at keeping promises). Also adding Toad and Toadette wouldn't be that hard, but would need to have another Mario and Luigi color because of it (Mario and Luigi have different palettes in SMM and SMM2. You probably already knew that).

Well, either way, it's customizable, I like the idea of the different color palettes, gives me Mario Sunshine vibes a bit.

With the SNES colors, you can also include sprites of the actual Luigi too. An SMB2 varient could be interesting there. Yeah, I know Luigi and the other green sprites got darken in Mario Maker and of course the different forms getting unique colors so ummm yikes.
I also see why you didn't include Fireballs, Wings and Stomp Clouds too.
