General Commentary and Game Overview
It always hurts to put a fellow countryman down, but this game just ain't very good.

also what did they do to Super Mario Worlds 3-2005???

Pros + Graphics are decent
+ Soundtrack is pretty good
+ Some of the later level design is kinda neat

Cons - The engine blows
- There's a lot of jank here and there

Impressions
Gameplay
4 / 10
The engine used is bad. It's clunky, and you constantly get stuck on everything, especially in the caves.

The level design is passable in the first few levels and pretty good in the cave/castle levels.

There are some really janky bits to some of the levels too. For example, there's one brick block that doesn't seem to have collision at all for some reason, causing you to fall into water and die if you make the foolish mistake of stepping onto it.

The enemy variety is pretty non-existent. Goombas and Koopas are basically the same thing and Jumping Piranha Plants are boring because they just go up and down.

You collect mushrooms in the game, but they don't seem to do anything. Maybe there's a score you can't see or something. Who knows.

Graphics
7 / 10
The graphics are mostly from SMAS SMB1, so they work well together. The menu graphics are a bit cruddy, though.

Sound
7 / 10
The soundtrack is pretty good (especially the random Smithy theme on the title screen) and the sound effects are too, though some of them are a bit weirdly chosen (why does a ? Block make a brick-breaking sound effect?).

Final Words
5 / 10
Below-mediocre platformer demo with a couple slightly better levels.
