General Commentary and Game Overview
Hard to believe 2006 was fifteen years ago. Very easy to believe this game was made fifteen years ago, though.

Pros + It's not offensively horrible in any way
+ It's nice to see forgotten projects released like this

Cons - The level design is mostly bland
- The graphics are a bit random

Impressions
Gameplay
5 / 10
The engine is everyone's favorite default platform movement; Clickteam's. There aren't all that many things to get stuck on, so it's not that bad here.

The level design is... flat. Most enemies just stand still or move in easily-avoidable patterns, and there isn't much to collect, aside from the hyper stars that are always in your way. There are two levels that have the hyper star behind some blocks that you need to use a switch to break, but you can just walk through the blocks, so... yeah.

You have a hammer, which is basically useless, and you can find powerups that let you shoot fireballs, which are also useless as they either fly over enemies or do nothing to them.

There are two boss fights against King Boo and Lava Piranha Plant. The KB fight is a bit confusing, but the LPP fight is alright.

Graphics
6 / 10
The graphics are a mishmash of all kinds of different styles and original graphics. They're not exactly bad, but having Mario stand next to a hyper-realistic alien tree is a bit weird.

Sound
7 / 10
The music mostly consists of decent midis of good tracks. Nothing terrible, but nothing particularly outstanding either.

The sound effects are fine, apart from the jump sound and the aggravatingly loud miniboss completion noise.

Final Words
5 / 10
It's definitely a game from 2006.

Oh god the overly loud miniboss completion noise might be the most painful moment in the game! That whole "miniboss" in general is amazingly out of place and... bad. Hahaha.

Thanks for writing a review Roo. It's neat to see someone give feedback on something I made sooo long ago I barely even remember the experience of making it :p
