General Commentary and Game Overview
Mr. Pence Goes To The New Dough Disco: Definitive Edition is the new (!) sequence to Mr. Pence Series. Does it take the series to a higher level? Let's see!
Last year, when I played the first Dough Disco, I remember I hated it. I gave a 8/10 in my review of MP Travels The World, and when I saw that Misteryt1MFGG posted a new game of the series I got really excited. The first thing I noted is the quality of the first impressions of the game: beautiful main menu, cutscenes and transitions. Unfortunely, the level design of the first levels is terrible. You just walk right, jump here and there, walk right, EXCEPT there's a boss fight after every level. Which enriches the gameplay - and the fun. The background of the levels also doesn't feel good. I would say it was a regress from the last game. At the end of the day it's just the "charm" of the Mr. Pence series. The story itself isn't different from any Mr. Pence game: it IS really fun. To say the truth, I liked the game because of the story, jokes and bossfights (and because I'm a fan of MP series), not because of the levels itself. So, nope. It didn't take the series to a higher level, but it's still a good game.
