The animation is kinda choppy. Try adding a third frame.

It's intentionally choppy; I limited it to two frames so it wouldn't look out of place among the equally choppily animated official sprites, which also only use two frames in their walking animations. The point of this is to fit in with Nintendo's SMB3 sprites, so I'm mostly trying to obey similar limitations.

you could make it sma4 styled by adding an extra frame.

I was going for All-Stars SMB3, though if there's enough demand, I suppose I can add an optional in-between frame some time. In the meantime, everyone intending to use this is of course free to modify it to suit their needs, including making the animation smoother.

SMA4 has a little tiny more brighter shading I believe.

Why shouldn't it? The Dry Bones sprite of the NES game is shaded as well as it's sparse enough in colours to allow for shading. The main reason most others aren't is due to limited palettes. The shading on the Mildes' body uses the same colour as their shoes, and the highlights on the shoes are the same colour as their bodies; since these colours would already be in the (3 colour) palette either way, there's no reason not to use them in this manner. If you'd rather have them flat-looking, though, it shouldn't take long to remove the effects.
