Luigi and the Quest for Nothing (Review Edition)
preview
By: lu9 [W]
One day Luigi was so bored - bored level: -9999/10 - but so bored that he went to venture through lots of worlds in search of absolutely nothing. Literally, he wanted to find an actual nothing, do you think it's possible? You will discover in this crazy and short 8bit-ish game! 8 Levels await you.

This is 98% complete, the Card Viewer system, even if you can collect the cards you can't view them, and this is the REVIEW EDITION, So feel free to make reviews for it, with bugs, glitches, clashes, and even suggestions to make this game better. They may appear in the final version of the game, even if all the levels are present here. And also, I need an ending story, so, write your own ending story, and I might choose the best one to appear here, include on the forum post, or on your review!

It's too unforgiving. I understand at times there needs to be difficulty in video games but Luigi's quest for nothing is "stab-in-the-throat" difficult rather than the difficulty in the game to slowly evolve throughout the levels like it does in the classic Mario games.

Also, when you die and continue your game: It starts you off with 0 lives and Luigi is shrink'd to his small self, making some levels extremely difficult to pass.

The air bubble concept is good on pen and paper but rushed execution here. It depletes way too fast. Also, in some of the levels (Like the space one shown in the picture): There are blocks that are placed randomly and make it difficult to pass through. Because of these two issues, I had to load up my save file at the moon stage several times.

The only two ideas i can actually give credit where it's due are the storytelling through Luigi's notepad and the idea of one level where it was all blank and you needed the coins and light switches to guide you.

Had the difficulty been toned down a bit, i would have actually given a really good review here. Unfortunately, while the polish is there: the difficulty, level design and mechanics still needs some fixing/toning.

Where'd you get those Koopa sprites? They rock!

These sprites are here in MFGG, try searching for them, in the credits it tells the author of some sprites.

@TheUnHolyDarkth Thanks for your... "comment review" lol, and I didn't found the moon level too hard, I already passed through it several times without dying, but everybody's got a point of view, so I'll try and fix those stuff in the final release.
@Jack-of-all-Games Waiting for your review to get accepted ;)

Ok, my review is finished. I put you in a good position, so don't disappoint me and do a final version with the bad things eliminated.

Mirak, making double accounts is NOT allowed.
Anyways, I played this game and, due to block placement, it is REALLY hard in some parts. It still was good though. I wrote a review for it.

@Syr you have to download the music
@TiKi the cards are just for collecting and viewing, but maybe I can make something with the cards on the final version

Oh boy... Why don't people take their time to read the description?! What's so hard about it? I always read the description of a game! It says, that you have to download the music seperate.

^ This
but
no need to be so harsh :P it happens
but its right, you should read the description to see details that you must know to play "well" the game.

I loved this game. Can't wat for the final version. I suggest you use Z for run and X for jump. Shift for Jump has sticky keys.

Well if you LOAD the game, it seems to lack background music yet I downloaded it.

Maybe they can be something like Catch cards in SPM, where when you have it, it has double points when you defeat it or collect it. All it will take are a few variables. :)
@ShyGuyToyBox: Sticky Keys can be turned off.

@quertyuiop666 actually, this game uses some elements from infamous GBC games, and some, are the cards, which are based from LEGO Island 2 (for GBC version) which had a card collecting system
