1. I don't think anything clashed here? Anyway, at least most of the final game is going to be entirely hand-drawn anyway, including backgrounds, soooo....

2. I've heard no such rule, but whatever. They accepted it. Either way, I wouldn't have cared much. The fact that they did accept it is admittedly kinda nice, though.

3. The direction the game is headed is in one or two of my YouTube videos.

4. I thought tech demos make sense? I mean, I think it is a good idea to experiment with the engine and see what kind of design I could give it. Granted, the design here was pretty bland, but I've improved on it since, anyway.

5. People don't (or at least shouldn't) enjoy video games from graphics.

6. Just thought I'd point it out - The points earned from collecting coins was a change. However, once you look up my said one or two YouTube videos, you could see there's been quite a lot more included in the game/engine. For example, the engine lacked any enemies, let alone bosses. I've implemented those.

7. There are no tiles.

8. You do NOT come play a tech demo and expect a storyline. Alright? Let's make that clear, at least.

9. The graphics are indeed not that great here, but as I'm developing the game, there are environments that just might be at least decent.

Awesome point to you for getting that it was Mario's Restaurant that I had the Bros referencing with a couple of their lines.

It was a nice touch, Miles. :P

Oh man, the game is awesome! Truly one of the best minigames on mfgg! Would Mario Minigame Mahyem get a 10/10, this deserves a over 9000/10.
I almost thaught this is a late april fools joke and some other game awaits me, but it turned out, it's the real one! Boy, was I glad! I'll write an review soon.

Y'know - It's pretty outright a-hole-ish to poke fun at a poor fangame on another person's fangame which is totally irrelevant to that game.

Honestly, it feels rather like standard fare. Maybe I just need to play it a bit more or something?

What's your idea then?

Some unique powerups would be nice. It might also help to tweak the physics so the ball bounces off the paddle depending on what direction the player is facing.

Pretty much whatever helps add more input into the outcome of the ball's actions.

I played it. I was SO close to liking it.

You see - The main problem I have with the game is that success feels determined on luck more than anything else. You can only do so much as the paddle, and while the ball is being flung around, it is open to danger (In this case, red Bullet Bills and pits), and the paddle cannot do anything about it.

The kid's made bad games before, and has learned absolutely nothing since those two games. Sometimes you have to hurt people a bit to help them.

Boy, have I learned that the hard way.

My early attempt at a Mario Land remake was only in a demo state...and it was shredded by reviewers.
Partly due to it being Hello's SMB1 Engine made worse.

Negative scores are funnier when there's only a few.

The reason we'd prefer it people DIDN'T is because when Techokami did it it was hilarious and unexpected. This is also funny and unexpected.

Honestly more will start ruining the joke.

Meh. I('ll) only use em when necessary.

Guys, just because the game is bad doesn't mean that Mario350 deserves negative (literally) scores. Seriously, seeing someone finding out a trick just to give your game a -2/10 is pretty mean for someone's feelings.

Perhaps, but the negative scores just show that it is pretty darn bad compared to the other games surrounding it.

I'm pretty sure Mario350 would give another shot at some other fangame. Heck, he's even already done a demo for his Wario Land 5 game, which is still better than this one.

I hope it's just you who's figured it out and is going to do it and that you didn't tell every other reviewer whose reviews have mysteriously disappeared.

Admittedly, I did try tacking on a -1/10, but that's not because he told me. I just tried a little something.

Apparently, it won't work here on my existing review - It's coming back out as a 1/10 still.

When Techokami gave a game -1, he wouldn't tell anyone for fear of a future where everyone paid no attention to the normal score scale and all hell broke loose.

I don't mean to be an elitist or anything, but it's not something I can risk sharing to the public. If you really want to give scores outside the 1-10 range, you'll have to figure it out yourself.

And no, this is not something that only site staff can do. As you can see on my profile, I'm just a plain ol' member.

It's everyone's dream to rate a bad game a 0 out of 10. I think it would be nice to see how.

EDIT: I think I may truly have figured it out by myself. Unfortunately, I can't seem to edit existing reviews for -# scores...So my review for this game still has to be a 1/10. T_T

Nonono, that's a normal pizza.

You have to use terrible MS Paint Pizza to kill things.

This doesn't even qualify as MS Paint Pizza, because MPP would still not look that bad.
