Wow... Awesome! I think the underwater mushrooms idea is really cool but I think it would be a level with underwater mushrooms that would use that part of the background though.

Not bad, but... I was hopin' you were doin' somethin' special for Halloween, like a haunted forest, spooky caverns, or inside of a Ghost House/Mansion or maybe even Luigi's Mansion-styled backgrounds and tilesets.

No way that's custom made, right? Man, I believe you, but that's extremely amazing that someone can do that. I bet Nintendo would hire you after seeing that!

Amazing! Love the texture. I would still recommend trying to do one of these backgrounds without using those white gradient outlines, but it's still awesome as it is.

It's a good thing I used all of CopperMario's backgrounds for my own screenshots on DA. I got tons of screenshots with his great graphics!

You have of true talent for this kind of spriting. :) But, just a small detail, the seaweeds look a little strange, you should animate them.
