Anyone know how to find the second dark world star coin in 1-Secret (super Mario bros 3 1-1 remake) for I looked everywhere for it and can't find it. I assume it has something to do with the hidden p-switch I found.

Try investigating the long pipe near the end of the level. Also try "rubbing" Mario against the side of it.

This game is great but i got a question, How to beat the pyramid level?

Beating World 2-Pyramid requires a lot of dimension-switching in the right places in order to progress. In both of the two main sections, you will find coloured keys that you need to take to the same door that you came through at the start of the section, and then place them in the respective locked gates. There is also a boss battle, which requires you to use springs to launch bricks at the boss.

In short: find the keys, unlock the gates.

Ha ha. This is one of the most creative reviews I've ever seen. It's like a fan-fiction spliced with a game review.

Ugh! I cannot find the last normal world star coin of World 1-2. Has anyone had any luck finding that?

In the section with the rising / descending platforms (after the section with the three pipes), try jumping over the structure on the left that appears to be blocked off.

In World 8-2, I can't get the green key through the lava. How can I do that?

That is a bug, I'm afraid. I'm assuming you have version 1.0.1.0. If so then redownload from this page to get the newer version 1.0.2.0 which fixes the problem. Sorry about that.

Can someone please tell me where the Star Coins are for world 2-Pyramid? I found the ones in the 2nd dimension, but not the 1st dimension. Any suggestions?

First coin: In the area outside of the pyramid, there is a "ladder" of hidden blocks above one of the steps. The coin is high up in the level.

Second coin: Hidden behind a wall in the section near the pipe that shoots you up, on the left of the pipe.

Third coin: Hidden behind another structure near where the green key is (but in the normal dimension instead of the alternate). Note that this coin is only in version 1.1; I forgot to add it in earlier releases.

Thanks for taking the time to review the game. I'm glad you enjoyed it.

On the story: honestly, I'm surprised people thought it was a good story. I thought it was a bit too random or poorly-written, but I guess it's fairly original.

On the music: I didn't find the Ghost House music to be that bad; it was kinda difficult to find remixes for it. Good thing one can change the music, huh?

On Game Overs: I tried to make it so your lives are reset, but I had no luck due to how save States work in Game Maker. Ah well.

On unexpected death: admittedly this is true for some of the level designs that I had, but it wasn't entirely intentional. It's kinda difficult to design levels like that since I find it difficult to think like someone who has never played the level before.

Overall this is nicely written whilst still being critical. Thanks again, and also thanks for sticking around and supporting the game through its development. :) May I ask how far into the game you got before writing this review?

How in the world do you beat World 5-3?

Yeah, that was a pretty difficult level. I guess having a Jetpack in your map inventory would help. Another option is using a Fire Flower and killing the Lakitu (you can fire upwards by holding UP and shooting, in case you didn't know). Maybe I should nerf the level, but I kinda wanted it to be difficult, since World 5 is fairly late into the game.

I've beaten this game, and it's great! I am trying to collect all of the Star Coins, but I'm stuck in World 2-Pyramid, I just can't find the 3rd Star Coin the normal dimension and I looked everywhere!

Does anyone know how to get this Star Coin?

Yeah... about that. I may have accidentally made it so that some Star Coins are impossible to get. It turns out some of the Star Coins (3 out of the 300, as far as I'm aware) I managed to "mis-label". In other words, there may be, say, 2 "second" Star Coins in a level, which is the case with World 2-Pyramid.

Because of this... this version of the game is impossible to complete 100%. If you want to get around this, simply edit some of the values of "data.ini". If you want the three levels that contain inaccessible Star Coins, they are: 2-Pyramid (level 12), 6-Secret (level 41), and 7-3 (level 45).

Luckily, I've fixed this for the next update. However, I cannot guarantee that save files will be transferable between the current version and the next.

World 3-3's normal exit is impossible to beat, I went into a pipe that shoots you up in the air but I got instantly killed by what I think is poison water.

I think I know the reason why that happens. Did you have a Frog Suit whilst doing this? This is a problem because a current of bubbles is at the start of the room the pipe leads to. When you have a Frog Suit, you are unaffected by bubble currents (which are most common in World 3-2). Therefore you get instantly killed. Sorry about that. Either way, it's fixed for the next update, which should be released fairly soon.

I'm liking this game, especially the custom music function. I changed basically every theme in the game to something different, and kept the original music in a separate file.

I'm only stuck in World 1-Secret, I can't find the 5th star coin there, and I checked everywhere.

You're not the first person to get stuck in that area :) Try getting a Jetpack and "rubbing" yourself against the side of the really long pipe in the alternate dimension, near the end of the level. I must admit, I hid that one a little too well...

I'm guessing it's not compatible with Macs?

I'm afraid not. It was made in Game Maker 8.1, so the game can only be played on a Windows PC.

Hey Langton, I was thinking you could do a 100% walkthrough on YouTube if you have an account on there. Or you could do a 100% Guide on another website. Does that sound good?

Maybe. I haven't got very good video recording software at the moment, but I do have an account (albeit one that I haven't used in ages). It's a good idea, nonetheless.

Hmmmm... it looks like I may have made a mistake in the coding of the game. The directory should've been C:\Users\じゃけ\AppData\Local\Temp\gm_ttt_82025\data.ini. I'll look at this later to see if I can fix the problem.

absolutely awesome! i dream to make a game like that, but your game (and my idea as well) looks a bit (or maybe a lot) like Silent Hill Origins and Constantine :P
how about rename that dimension change thingy to "Reality Shift", if you ask me that name of very cool, but ask the people first and see if they like it, you there, yes, you reading this right now, do you like that name?
can i join the project? i you be happy to help make this goes on, and i would be very helpful too!

I've kind of already finished the game. The full version was posted on this site a few days ago. But thanks for asking.

I found a bug just now. In the purple coin levels if you swap dimensions the purple coins will re appear. So basically making the level incredibly easy. So yeah... :P

Really? I've never had that happen; I could've sworn that I made that impossible since Demo 2. Hmmmm.

I was thinking you could add a feature where the lasers bounce off of the slopes on the direction their facing. Like, their hit a slope when going right, then bounce and go upwards.

I was planning on doing that, actually, but admittedly I was a little lazy when programming the lasers (hahaha). I think I might make the lasers do this in the next release (which will be a small release to fix a few things, not a major release).

Wait? you say it was made in the dragzeeY engine? you got to be kidding me this is a game made with the dragzeeY engine and its not a clone? you serious?

Hey now, there are plenty of games made with this engine that aren't plain clones! Take Mario & Luigi's Coin Chaos, for example. That game has a lot of its graphics changed, adds new power-ups, and uses SPC (SNES music) files for its music! In all honesty, I don't think the engine is used enough. I used it myself because of how close it is to the classic Mario games, in terms of physics and gameplay.

Lastly, thanks to everyone for the nice comments, and for the surprising amount of downloads the game has had. I mean, 450 in 2 days? That's crazy, man!

Woah! I must have screwed something up when I was editing the GM for the demo... I'll fix that item glitch ASAP! As for the coin thing it should take away 100 coins I must not put it on the coin sign. Silly me. :P Thank you for giving my game a second chance and I'm sure that this version is WAAAAAAAYYYYY better than v1. Thanks for the support! Also how is dimensions going?

We're only human; we make mistakes, right? About Dimensions, it's still not quite done yet, but lucky all I really need to do is the levels, which I've done about 80% of. It should be complete by early next year. Thanks for asking!

"Also time was eliminated and SILVER STAR levels were made easier." That was all I needed to hear to convince me to play this again. Time limits in every level was more of a frustration than a challenge before.

Overall, this is looking to be a very good game! One thing I especially like is the amount of detail put into the design of each level, the game plays and controls very well (largely due to the use of the Drag engine) and the selection of music is good.

Also, I recommend only having those Silver Star signposts in the earlier levels, so that the player has the challenge of finding them themselves in more difficult levels.

EDIT: I've found two bugs with the Minigame House. Firstly, it took away 100 coins from me when it said it costs 50 coins, and when I grab my prize from the chest, an constant supply of Fire Flowers keeps coming out of it! See here: http://www.mediafire.com/convkey/a251/itahfy9uusv3o4kzg.jpg

I really like how this game is designed and the game itself is just amazing!

This is just an idea you don't have to do it but it's just an idea what if the world was SNES and when you swapped dimensions it would become NES... idk seems like it would fit really well with this :D

That's a very interesting idea! But it may not fit with this game in particular since the style of the entire game is supposed to be NES. Also, your game is really cool too!

When holding the Run button when transitioning to another screen, Mario doesn't count as "running". You have to re-press the button. Just a minor control gripe but Mario games at the very least usually register this kind of thing, so I feel it is warranted in being mentioned.

This is isn't really something I can fix, but I see your point. I think it may just be a thing to do with Game Maker itself - I guess it doesn't register holding a button after changing rooms. It happens with most engine-based Mario games, so I think it's Game Maker.

Also I look forward to that review.
