Gamemaker Open Source Isometric Mario Engine By: Golem [E]
This GM6 file contains a working isometric engine, similar to the overworld engine in Mario & Luigi, that users can feel free to use to create their own games.

It was programmed with much help from Mason the Magikoopa. Many other resources were used in the engine as well--please consult the Game Information of the GM6 for more details.

Also included in the Game Information is the thinking behind the creation of an isometric engine.
Target Applications: GM6

Update History
01/14/07  Credit for the dialogue engine is now given to the proper person. Also, the koopa shell and bully collision is fixed; sounds will only play as they should.

This is Awesome! My only gripe is that mario moves to slow, but fortunantly, I'm fixing that for my game.

It's awesome, AND it doesn't need registered! My only problem is increasing MArio's speed. I can't figure out how.

Mario's speed is 2. If you want to adjust it, you'll have to make sure to take care of every reference to it in the arrow key movements for the Mario object and Mario's shadow object.

The ? blocks work as solid platforms. It is just difficult to jump on top of them unless there is a jump-through platform nearby to jump from.

Er, there is one problem I found.
if you increase mario's speed, and then hit a boundy block when going down, mario starts going to the right really fast. can you help me solve this?

The baddies make funny noises when they are hit. I LOVE the sound the spiny makes.....

Some minor buggs.. Good job tho. Oh and btw, this is no isometric game engine, a isometric game is a game where you see everything from a diagonal viewport like in super mario RPG.

Speaking of game maker, ive been having a problem. I'm creating a mario related game called the antonio bros. but ive made antonio an object and gave the command: collision land (also an object) but whenever i start the game he falls right off teh screen!

Open "Obj_Lvl_testarea", edit the piece of code to the text you want by replacing the old one. :)
