That part shown on the screenshot is far too frustrating. Ease it up, please.

A great game, very original, although you DID use an engine...

You know it reminds me of Metroid Fusion, too... And pretty much any non-3D Metroid game outthere!

Hey you got way to much junk on that file i downloaded!!! I can't even find the game!!! You are a computer pack-rat, man!

...it's only 2 files. An EXE (the game) and a readme. Inside the zip file. How exactly does that make the guy a pack-rat? o_o

Anyway: I like the way that the engine was fixed up.

I was going to tell the staff to reject this submission, because I externalized the music shortly after uploading this game. This is a very preliminary beta riddled with glitches.

I'm doing further fixes to the Hello engine so that the lag can finally go away for slower computers.

MP3 music will be a separate download pack. It is not required to run the game, but you'll have no music.

Consider it done. If you get the Yellow Switch Palace, there will be ! Blocks to ease that section.

I've made significant core engine fixes and some level design tweaks since this early Beta was done.

If only MFGG was not limited to 15MB for games...

I have a request for another franchise to put in your game. Could you put in Half-Life? Because that would be sick and enjoyable. You can look at the Codename: Gordon, a 2D flash game about HL... I only mention it because of this page, has some sprite material.

That's a pretty good idea. Those sprites can fit in will. Hopefully, I can get into contact with the creators of that game so I can get permission to use their sprites. Mario bashing his enemies with a crowbar sounds just as hilarious as Mario killing Cyberdemons and Covenant with turnips.

Oh yes. Something else crossed my mind, what if... maybe there could be a Zelda3-esqe item select screen? What I'm trying to get at is maybe after you finish a stage/world you can one item from that franchise that you can be able to use in other levels and carry on you without ever dropping the item. You'd be able to select the item by pressing start... Although that wouldn't really be Mario..

The graphics are wonderful. Heck, it actually makes me WANT to play it more. But, the main issue is the lag. It lags, and bad. To the point where the levels are unplayable. Believe me, I re-tried about 10 times. After that, I just gave up. Lag needs to be fixed, ASAP.

Other then that, you have a good game going here. This is what a fan-game is about. Originality and fun.

Keep up the good work.

I like the graphics.
I think the bubbleman level is kind of hard unless you have fire mario.

I haven't downloaded this yet, but I have some ideas you could look into for reducing the filesize of the music. First, for any video game song that you want to use the original rendition for, you should find a plugin that supports playing the songs in their original format. There's a plugin to play SPC files in the misc. section of the site, and since SPCs are around the 65 kb range and sound better than MP3s, you really should use it if you can replace something with it easily. Other than that, you could try converting the music into OGG format or something, though it'll still probably be pretty huge.

That's not very similar to this game's concept at all. I assume you only looked at the title?

I already made it so that the MP3 music is separate from the game EXE. The MP3 music will be a separate download, but you are not required to get it in order to play the game. You'll just have no music.

How is Ultramario "dissing" me there? He's just saying the part of the level that's shown in the current screenshot is too frustrating. It is meant to be hard, but a lot of people, not just Ultramario, are noting how difficult that part is.

Uhhh.... I think you should use better grammer. Two the that so called paragraph, UltraMario is not trying to be harsh (atleast I think) it's just His choice of how hard or difficult the level is Yo. Lastly, Its MFGG, and It's not a magical place of icecream and rainbows.

Excellent game so far, even if it does have an exceptionally slow framerate. I look forward to this game's completion, and I'm DEFINITELY for a Half-Life-themed world.

Yeah, I am that guy. I made that Super Mario MF game. But I used Multimedia Fusion 1.2, and it had severe limitations. So, I canceled Super Mario MF, learned Game Maker and turned it into Super Mario Fusion.

Well, that sucks. I can't play it.

Just like Super Mario Bros: Revenge of Bowser (A game that uses this same engine), it sits there at what I'd assume is the the opening cinema but never does anything.

It just sits there. Forever.

I really, really, really hate GameMaker because I always hear of stuff like this happening, but, for the most part, I never encounter the problems other people have. Well, now I am.

Argh...

The new Beta removes that cinema since too many people are having problems with it.

For everyone else, until my update of Mario Fusion shows here, you can get the newest version from the following links:

Get it at: http://www.megaupload.com/?d=0MKIIT73
Get the MP3 music pack at:

You are not required to have the MP3 music pack to play the game, but you'll have no level music.
