Good concept, but the sprite is rather jagged and lacks proper shading. First submission is never a good excuse.

It's a pretty nice sprite, but it lacks shading. Add in nice shading and make the outlines more M&L-ish, that would make it much better.

This is bad I have a new sheet that is coming out that is way better than this. It has mlss shading, and has a better size comparison to mario.
