General Commentary and Game Overview
Mario Kart: Speed Strife is one of those rare 3D games on MFGG. Foruntatley, this is a good one. Unfortunately, it all depends on how powerfull your computer is.

Pros 3D graphics
Nice track design with interesting environments
Unlockable characters
Grand Prix, Vs. and Time trials modes

Cons Lag, while some tracks are hardly noticeable, others are excruciatingly slow
Rival racers aren't effected by obstacle cars

Impressions
Gameplay
7 / 10
Since this is a Mario Kart fangame, I'll skip on the universal assumptions of this game that are in this game. Many players found the drifting very weird, but I personally find the extreme sharpness of it makes the kart easier to control. The courses are small and compact, which makes me guess that it would make you feel like you are going faster than you really are if the game was running at full speed.

Graphics
9 / 10
The race tracks and character models were well done, looking like Mario Kart DS. The menu graphics clash with it a bit, as it's taken from Mario Kart 8. To add even more confusion, some of the HUD icons are taken from Mario Kart: Double Dash!!, but I find they blend nicely with the models. If it weren't for the jarring menus, I would have given this a 10/10

Sound
8 / 10
About 90% of the music is from Mario Kart 8. The opening tune (when you start a race) is from Mario Kart 64, while it's hard to pinpoint the origin of the sound effects and voices.

Replay
6 / 10
Aside from the main grand prix mode, there's a time trials and a customizeable vs. mode. Unless your computer doesn't show any lag in this game, you probably wouldn't go back to play this, however.

Final Words
7 / 10
This game is well designed, but the heavy lag kills a lot of the fun.
