| Pros | +Interesting idea +Graphics and audio work +No glitches encountered |
| Cons | -Really frustrating gameplay -It's just the same rehashed SMB1 levels you see everywhere yet again |
Gameplay 4 / 10 |
It starts off as your typical Mario platformer. However, you have a sanity meter that constantly goes down. You can refill your sanity by defeating enemies and collecting powerups. Now, you might that that combing Mario gameplay with a horror style sanity meter would be interesting. The problem is how it is implemented. You see, once your sanity gets too low, you start moving slower. And then even slower. In a platformer, extremely slow movement is a no-no. But there's more. Eventually, your sanity gets so low that Mario runs in a full on sprint, allowing you to finish the rest of the level. This leads to the following gameplay: Go through as fast as you can, trying to keep your sanity up (the bonuses you get are usually not worth going out of your way to get them unless they are on the path you are already taking). Then, when your sanity is lower, slowly inch forward for an annoyingly long time. That is, if you don't need to make any precarious jumps. If that is the case, you are better off spending that time standing still. After you are done waiting, zoom through the level at an uncontrollable speed and hope for the best. While the sprinting part can get intense, having to wait such a long time to get to that part just makes the whole thing frustrating. To makes things worse, upon getting a game over, you have to start at the beginning of the first level again. |
Graphics 8 / 10 |
Graphics are alright. The artstyle seems consistent enough. Everything is mostly in black and white, which makes everything feel gloomy. |
Sound 7 / 10 |
Sound is ok. It's your typical horror ambiance stuff. Nothing notable, really. |

Ultimately, this game is too frustrating to recommend. |
