Pros | The MIDI OST is fun to listen to. Plays fairly well Nice level design + More |
Cons | Graphics clash. Wonky underwater controls Sound glitch that happens in every Clickteam game. This is fixed through the Task Manager by only allowing CPU 0 to run the game. (Credit to Q-Nova for teaching me to do this) You die in 1 hit Crashes often if you try to do something + More |
Gameplay 6 / 10 |
The engine is FAR MORE ADVANCED, just like in Super Mario Epic 2 (Jeff Silvers). You have the the ability to destroy blocks by default. And the funny thing is that, MUSHROOMS GIVE OUT FIRE POWER. And you die in 1 hit, regardless of what state you're in. To make things unfair, you can only "kick" shells to get them moving by jumping on them. Other than that, I like the level design. Oh, & you can't forget about the POOR WATER PHYSICS. Mario still moves horizontally no matter what key you press. Fireballs sometimes crash on ground. Ah, yes. You lose you fire power if you go to the next level. Oh, & Piranha Plants go back up even after you kill them. World 5-1 was a pain to get through. I was stuck forever on this level, JUST TO FIND OUT you can actually ride on Birdo's eggs, just like in Super Mario Bros. 2 (Nintendo). The scrolling system is different on certain levels. On the last boss (the only boss of the game), Mario will sometimes die in 1 hit if he tries to jump on Bowser like a Goomba (what he's supposed to do). To make thing unfair, you go back to the checkpoint of the castle & have to start over. If you lose all lives, THERE ARE NO CONTINUES. Even worse, no passwords. This is HARD. Be warned. |
Graphics 6 / 10 |
Graphics clash. Oddly enough, Mario's sprites are ACTUALLY from Mario's Early Years on the SNES. I can tell from his palette & death sprite. Most others look like stock photos (in which some look amazing). Graphics can look ugly by the colors & resizing & editing. This game is in French, which is a thing I don't hate since people make things in their native language. I wasn't able to translate the dialogue, because I don't learn French. I'm currently learning Japanese on Duolingo. |
Sound 7 / 10 |
Fun MIDI soundtrack to listen to. Pretty generic sound effects, & unfitting level 1 music. None of the audio has something to do with the actual Mario series at all. TONS OF TRACKS are quite catchy (save for the level 1 music). Oh, and you can't forget that THE SOUND WHEN MARIO GETS SHOT OFF A PIPE IN WORLD 3 JUMPSCARED ME. |

~SPOILER WARNING!~ Fun to play through, but intensely difficult. Glitches often happen. So, yeah. If you're a diehard gamer, this is recommended for you. |
