Character Select Example By: bigmariofan1.0 [E]
This is a how-to for Game Maker 6.1 on how to select characters. It only has the basic structure on how to select one character from a choice of two, but that may change. There is no gamplay after the character select screen, since that is not what this example is for. Sprites by Techokami so give him credit if you use the included sprites. Please don't steal and claim as your own.

P.S. Check all the information the "README" object has before editing this example.

Eh, I know there are more easier ways, but this uses a more advanced technique, it'll probably help some of the newer GM users learn some more.

Please don't say first comment. It makes more work for the comment mods.
On topic: This will be useful for newbies.

can you make one that you click your mouse on a button, it changes the character in a different room?

You could probably just do that by setting a global variable when a character is selected and placing code/actions in the creation event for the character placed in each room that makes him turn into another character if the value of the global variable is different from the default.

Sorry, but it's pretty simple to make a character/level select, and like they said, there are easier ways.

I know, but as I said, I did it this way on purpose. This still works, it only shows a different way to do it, this is the way I prefer it. Newer users can still learn from this.
