General Commentary and Game Overview
Wait, what are you doing? Why are you reading this review instead of playing this game. STOP IT. GO PLAY THE GAME. NOW.

Seriously, stop what you're doing right now and try this game.

...

Ugh, fine. Whatever, man.

The Legend of Marker is a game that is set in the far reaches of the Mario universe. In that sense, it is a fan game. Admittedly it kind of stretches the definition of a fan game, but that's okay, because this is one of the best games on MFGG, and it is a terrible shame that no one noticed.

Come to repentance, ye MFGGers, and play this game. Redeem thyselves!

Pros + A unique, fun experience unlike anything I've seen at MFGG
+ Awesome graphics
+ Awesome music which as far as I know is original
+ All around awesome.

Cons - A couple of bugs, but I guess a few are to be expected in a demo

Gameplay
10 / 10
The game is a unique experience unlike most games on MFGG. Your character can scale walls and ropes with the W key. You can perform a dash by pressing Space, which breaks open chests and activates special blocks. A and D move your character, and S turns on/off your flashlight which may be helpful in dark areas.

There are enemies, of course--which may be defeated by your dash attack. Defeating enemies gives you experience points which level you up. The obvious improvement is in your health, but the game does not seem to indicate if it affects any other possible attributes. There are obstacles to avoid and objects to interact with--spikes, blocks that reverse gravity, and so on and so forth.

The game uses an advanced physics engine, which adds to the immersion and further distances itself from the hundreds of platformers you may be used to.

There are, however, a couple of bugs. In one level of the ruins there is a sign which does not seem to respond to pressing the S key to read it. With some signs it seems possible to leave them and have the textbox stuck on your screen until you clear that particular room.

Graphics
10 / 10
The graphical effects in this game are absolutely amazing. I mean seriously, look at that page image. The game uses a simple, cartoonish style that feels somewhat like Yoshi's Island, and then adds some pretty lighting and transparency effects to it. Just about everything in this department looks pretty well done.

Sound
10 / 10
The game draws some sound effects from official games. But as far as I know, the music is original, and well composed I might add. If it isn't original, you did a good job of hiding that fact.

Replay
1 / 10
Sadly, this is a demo, and therefore quite short (and lacking in replay value). You could play it again from the start if you want, but otherwise you've got nothing. But since this is such a really good demo, I am going to completely ignore this department for the purpose of determining an overall score.

Final Words
10 / 10
This game is so good, that it being ignored HAS to be a sin. Lo, hear ye the word of Cap'n Coconuts! Repent! REPENT!
