General Commentary and Game Overview
Koopa Hunt is a Duck Hunt tribute by Simpson55. That's all you need to know, because this game is boring and there are much better games for you to play on MFGG.

But since you're still here, I might as well explain why I find it to be of poor quality.

Pros + It's a tribute to Duck Hunt around the time the dog was leaked as a Smash 4 character

Cons - It's a poor tribute
- Shallow, uninteresting gameplay
- No music
- Few sound effects
- One potentially annoying sound effect

Impressions
Gameplay
3 / 10
On the main menu, you're allowed to select one of four areas to do your Koopa hunting. These areas play exactly the same, except some of them have blind spots in different places because the Koopa Paratroopa flies behind many background objects. The castle area is especially bad about this, as the top third of the screen is a background the Koopa can hide behind. And since the Koopa spawns at a random location with random direction, it could theoretically stay there for a very long time.

You're given a clip size of 3. Strangely, the number of shots only goes down if you miss, and reaching 0 results in a game over. Bullets generally do not work this way in real life or any shooter that takes itself remotely seriously.

Koopa Paratroopas never seem to fly away, therefore there's no punishment for waiting too long to shoot one. But I suppose I should be thankful, as I'm sure that by this game's logic that would make my shots disappear, too.

I would rather have a faithful Duck Hunt clone to play: one where Koopas fly away if you wait too long, where there's a goal every round, and where you don't lose slugs only by missing. Having additional game modes like the clay disc alternate mode would make it even better. Oh, and all of its stages wouldn't be EXACTLY the same save spots the Koopas could hide behind.

Graphics
5 / 10
Almost all of the graphics are ripped from Duck Hunt or Super Mario World, which are... not impressive. Given that Simpson55 has a history of making graphics, one might expect him to make some custom eye candy for this game... but alas, this is not the case. This game would be more visually interesting if it had custom graphics.

Sound
3 / 10
There's absolutely no music whatsoever except for the bit on the main menu ripped from Duck Hunt. There are a few sound effects, however. The Koopa sound is repeated like a broken record, which some people may find annoying.

In the eighties Duck Hunt managed to do well despite not having much in the way of music, but this is 2014. And even then, Duck Hunt had more diversity in its sound effects than this game.

Replay
1 / 10
There is little to encourage me to play it again. I suppose you could play it to get a high score, but why bother when there's many, many better games for you to play on MFGG?

Final Words
3 / 10
A sad tribute to Duck Hunt that is inferior to it in just about every way.
