General Commentary and Game Overview
It's the alpha demo for the sequel to the critically acclaimed Super Mario Bros. Dimensions, complete with better music, better graphics, and more Polter. Normally, I would include a plot summary here, but the game lacks any at the moment. Oh well, on with the review.

Pros +Remastered graphics and sounds
+2 zones and over 5 playable missions
+Gameplay elements not seen in the original

Cons -Seems like there's a quite a bit less dimension switching than the original

Impressions
Gameplay
9 / 10
The gameplay stays faithful to that of its prequel, as well as some new things added in (added power-up abilities, anti-death by dimension switching, a new Chestnut powerup, etc.) My only complaint so far is that you can't dimension switch as often as in the first game, which sorta took away from the exploration element. Looking good, otherwise :)

Graphics
10 / 10
The graphics really added a nice aesthetic touch to the game, on top of the smooth gameplay and sounds. Like the first game, the graphics are largely SMB3 based, but this time in 16 bit. Everything just sorta flows together, even in the melancholy alternate dimension.

Sound
9 / 10
The overall sound quality and music selection is good, notable how a use was found for that one unused SMG2 song. Nothing much else to say here, really.

Replay
8 / 10
I really couldn't find much motivation to replay the already beaten levels, which is to be expected of an alpha demo. It's not a complete "play-once-you're-done" sort of game, fortunately. Even after all possible Energy Drops have been collected you can still try to find all the Star Coins and get a gold rating on each one of the missions.

Final Words
9 / 10
Whether you've played the original or experiencing this for the first time, this demo will leave you waiting for the full game. Or the next demo.
