General Commentary and Game Overview
To be honest, when this game was downloading on to my hard drive I had my expectations set really low. At first glance "A Typical Day" just seemed like it was gonna be a generic platformer with off the walls humor.

Well, i was obviously wrong because "A Typical Day" is actually pretty decent, some of the jokes were genuinely pretty funny, to me at least. But to other people the humor is not for everybody, but I thought it was pretty subtle.

Pros +Nice Graphics
+Easy controls
+Good Sound
+Jokes are nicely paced and subtle
+Game served a good challenge
+Clever and funny idea that you can throw the background apples

Cons -Replay value is never gonna make me come back to this game
-Goomba's deceleration is slippery
-No checkpoints

Impressions
Gameplay
8 / 10
Gameplay was extremely surprising, Goomba actually controls pretty well, there were no bugs at all either. The game itself though served a good challenge and kept me on my feet the whole way through. Goomba is a bit slippery, but this does not come as a real concern until I got to the run segment, I got the hang of it after a few tries though. I really like dhow the run segment helped bring things along as well as keep a steady pace, gameplay was extremely well at keeping the jokes well paced too and did not feel to sudden. It kind of enhanced them too and knew when they should be more sudden or not. The boss was also challenging which i liked, but what I did not like is that I had to start all over again when I failed because there was NOT a checkpoint.

Graphics
10 / 10
Graphics wise this game is really nice to look at and I did not really have any concerns, because of Quinton`s art style all the other sprites in his style tend to clash very well and stand out to were they don`t tend to look ugly, Pacman as the sun got a good laugh out of me too.

Sound
8 / 10
Sound is fine, and nothing seemed out of the ordinary, once again Quinton chose a good choice of sound effects so they all clash well. Boss music though felt lower quality and so did the title music which bothered me.

Replay
2 / 10
Replay value is extremely scarce here, I`m not gonna cut him any slack either because he put it into a contest that wasn't even official. One level and one boss? After that nobody is gonna want to play your game again. Not after is was really challenging too you should of at least made 9 more levels, which for a fangame could been a huge leap.

Final Words
8 / 10
"A Typical Day", is not your typical joke fangame at all, but what is typical is that the reply value is terrible.

Thanks for the review! About the lack of checkpoints, I thought the game was short enough to have no checkpoints. But seeing how difficult the boss is, I can definitely see the problem of no checkpoints.

Yeah, the difficult aspect of making a video game is that we never really realize how difficult the game may be since were usually play testing it, I was able to beat the boss after a few tries though.
