It seems like you want to make a darker version of SMB1 sprites, but most of them are small edits with pillow shading and unnecessary gradients.
Ok, there are a few custom stuff, but they are ugly and pillow shaded too. I don't think this sheet is useful at all.

I don't really think Mors meant any harm; he was just giving you constructive feedback. Seeing as this is your first spritesheet submission, don't be surprised if you get a lot of feedback like that. We're not here to hurt you; we're here to help you. :)

The sprites are too dark, there's so much gradients, and whoa, the Goombas are looking squishy. But it's a good start for you, though!

I understand thanks though,I honestly don't like spriting,I prefer to draw and write stories or make games. I just felt like doing it at least once in my life ha ha. I can actuly draw better on paper,I've written a 700 page book, but never had the time to type it up yet. I've made over 300 or so made up characters in my mind,so I'm going to try to make an RPG game with them. I use RPG maker a lot as well. I like to use a lot of old engines because I like to see just how far I can push something and make it surpass my last failures. I never give up on any of my projects like Mario Advanced Adventures it's still in the works even now,I put a lot of effort into this project I hope it'll be pleasing to people this time around. :) I do all the work my self. I search the internet for sprites, backgrounds, back ground sound effects, the music, and then I build my own levels and test them all. It's actuly fun and I never get annoyed having to keep stopping and double check my progress. I love making things for people to enjoy,I wish this was around when I was a kid. Being poor isn't fun so having something to do would have been nice other then working all day in the hot sun. I really like you people here, yall treat me better then most gaming websites. I hope everyone keeps up their good work too! I wish everyone the best on their projects as well! ^.^

I actually like these quite a bit. The first SMB game really had a darker tone to its sprites. I think the darker colors here add to that A bit.
The only thing that could be improved is that there is not a set shading angle (AKA: Light source). But if you really got into it a bit more this could turn out pretty good.

Really? Fuc*ing hell, Did you just copy and paste someone else's rips, recoloured with terrible colours and applied gradients to it? That's really lazy of someone who's a degenerate. Hell, I can easily do it in just a hour.

Also, please don't include your god awful shi**y furry OC.

Let me make one thing clear to you! I did not copy anybody's work I don't steal things thank you very much! I used sprites right from the nes engine it self! I ripped them then did the rest my self! I don't tolerate being accused! You remind me of that Dazz punk from Spriter's Resource always gave me a hard time when I've done nobody wrong! If you don't like them go somewhere else! I'm sure there is many other sprites you can look at,better yet you make them yourself I could care less! But don't you dare accuse me of being a thief! I did this myself,if it happens to look like somebody's then it's coincidence! Some things I attempt to draw on my own like coins and goomba,I don't do sprites too much I only just wanted to try at least once In my life. I'm not going to disrespect this site and curse you back, because I'm better then that and I respect others but not those who go around pointing fingers until they know all the facts! Thank you and good day! >:(

What makes you so sure he took someone else's rips, hmm?

I'd just like to say as an outside observer that your community has a lot of toxic problems. All of your "constructive criticism" is written in the most confrontational and snarky tone imaginable, and a lot of you seem to pride yourself on your ability to tear down people who are either first starting out on the long, grueling, and lonesome road of game design, or are just kids doing the best they can at their age or skill level.

Most of you seem quick to attack some one's work for "clashing sprites" or "using someone else's engine" before taking the time to examine their level design or concepts.

It's just really sad. You could be helpful, uplifting, or nurturing in these people's(mostly kids) interest in spriting or game design instead of tearing them down and acting like pissy babies.

Some of these weirder or off-putting uploads are just people learning and trying to better themselves. Help them, don't call them a "degenerate" or go on about how much whatever they made sucks. Who knows, maybe this person has something great inside them and we'll never see it because instead of being helpful or encouraging, you thought it was more important to make yourself look like the way cool internet tough guy on a comment section for Mario fangames. In the end, you're all trying to express your love of the Mario franchise AND a love of game design, why not let people express themselves rather than tearing them down because they don't reach some ridiculous semi-professional standard you've all placed over everyone's head?

tl;dr-- you guys are only hurting your own community by acting like dicks to kids and people just learning.

Thank you for the comment,no I did not take anyone's sprites I'm not a thief. I did however take them from the game itself using a NES emulator and pressing F12 to take snap shots then open them in paint and delete the old colors then open them in Game maker to get more colors and add them. Some I did over do with colors because I made a giant colorful flame like background and just copied and pasted the empty color sprites on to it and I liked the way it looks so I desided to do a few like that. Others you can see I did each line with the same color I just got darker with each line as I moved on up or down. :)
Now the coins were not from the game nor the goomba's I made them myself or at least I tried to anyways. :/ I like the look of my goomba more then the coins, even I didn't come to like them, but I figured I'd go ahead and give a shot maybe somebody could use them and maybe not. I didn't think I was going to get cursed out for trying to do something nice to share with everyone. You have a great day you hear?! :)

Hello there, and thanks for being nice,I won't let people get me down I love doing what I do and that's make games more then anything. I just wanted to try my hands on sprites,I've made some more that's not as colorful as these so I'll try to upload them when I can,and these will be all hand made none from the game rip itself. :) And I do put a lot of thought into my work,I just thought different colors would look good in a more darker tone setting, but I guess maybe I went alittle over board with colors getting all excited with how they looked in my eyes. :( Anyways thanks and have a great day! :)

Please watch your words, GamePixel. He's just a newbie to MFGG. We all start as terrible spriters, but as of present-day I'm fine at extending any tileset.

@rustolegrand I'm one of the few people who understands a newbie. I believe there should be something like "7 Golden Rules for Constructive Criticism" in the Submission Rules section (there's a comment section for that)

This sprite sheet is alright. But the comment section? I can't tell what's weird, the furry hate comment or the fact that he responded to every message on this.

Literally everyone here: Hey, [namegoeshere], do you take constructive criticism?

[namegoeshere]: Yes, why?

Literally everyone here: It's utter crap, and you should be ashamed.
