There's one problem with the sheet:
Both colored Swooper suits break the 3-color rule. You used tan, orange, green, and black for the first one, while you used yellow, tan, blue, and black for the second suit.

some NES games use superposed sprites to add more colors.

The 4 colors rule is applied to 8x8 tiles, as far as I know.

Realistically speaking, Mario would end up getting a tan with this suit on, much like the Hammer Suit (read: Mario's skin would turn to the same orange color on the rest of the sprite).

This is true. I was thinking about doing this, but I don't know what went through my mind when I was coloring it. I could always fix it.
