General Commentary and Game Overview

Super Mario Bros. X is a big fangame created by Redigit. It's so big and amazing, it's got it's own forum, sound packs and gfx packs. It has alot of content and an amazing Level-Editor (which the actual game was made in). And if you got a friend (and maybe atleast one controller) you can play together.

Pros

-It's fun (at least to most people)
-Most elements from the classic Mario games made it into the game.
-Great working physics (also Mario & Co. are a little floatier)
-Five playable Characters (Mario, Luigi, Toad, Peach and Link)
-A 2-Player Cooperarative-Mode
-A 2-Player Battle Mode
-Easy usable Level-Editor
-Special Events and Layers (for example: to move a block)
-Easy Creation of custom episodes, that you can upload to the SMBX Forum
-Easily install Sound-Packs
-Add custom Graphics to your episode or just one single level
-A lot of Yoshis and Shoes
-The return of beloved Power-Ups like the Hammer-Suit
-No frog Suit (People seem to dislike it, so it fits here)
-You can use your own music for your levels (mp3-songs)

Cons

-There won't be an update. The newest version will always be 1.3 (but there is an unofficial update, currently 1.4.1)
-No Frog Suit (I like it, so it fits here)
-The standard sounds and songs sound a bit odd

Impressions

Gameplay 10 / 10	The gameplay is just as you'd expect it to be from a Mario Game. You can Jump, Run, Crouch, Spin-Jump and use all sorts of Power-Ups, Yoshis and Boots.
Graphics 10 / 10	The Main Game's Graphics are charming, but for those who want to use custom gfx they can create their own or simply use graphics from Red Yoshi's GFX Pack (includes Yoshi as a playable Character)
Sound 10 / 10	The Sound is a bit.... odd.... But since you can isntall Sound Packs and use your own MP3 this isn't a problem.
Replay 10 / 10	Even though SMBX was probably supposed to be a game with a level-editor, it feels more like a level-editor with an included Episode (/Game) to show off, what the editor is capable of. So there are tons of custom episodes on the internet. And since the game supports secret exits, there's so much to do, you probably can't keep up, but that's good, because every episode is big and some are just bad.

Final Words

This game is a must-play game. It's a hidden gem on the internet. The multiplayer is so much fun, the level-editor is the most powerful level-editor I know (and I know a lot including Mario Maker) If you like the classic Mario Games or just Mario Games in general or simply creating your own levels, you need to play this.
