Super Mario Fusion: Revival (0.4.1)
preview
By: Cap'n Coconuts, the Fusion Team [W]
Guide Mario and company as they travel through the Mushroom Kingdom and other dimensions. This is much like what Mushroom Kingdom Fusion was back when it was known as Super Mario Fusion: Mushroom Kingdom Hearts. SMF:R has a number of features that its bulkier brother doesn't, such as the mount system (which includes the tank in that preview image). Press F1 while the game is running for help.

NOTE: Due to upload file size limits, the downloaded package does not have the music included. If you wish to have music, you must download the music here, and extract the files to your game's music folder: http://www.dropbox.com/s/8fpa4diccivuddk/SMFR%20v0.4.1-music.zip
Completion: Demo Genre: Platform
Franchise: CROSSOVER

That HUD is like SMW's, did you edit it from Drag Engine 7 or Hypernova's SMW engine? I'm just wondering.

No, Fusion Team used Hello Engine 3, but modified it.

Edit: When I entered the World 4 pipe, the game crashed :I

You're close. Hello Engine 3 was used to make Mushroom Kingdom Fusion, whereas this game was made from Hello Engine 4.

Weird. Is this on Windows 8 or an earlier version of Windows?

EDIT: The game is built off of Hello Engine 4. Perhaps we should have used a codebase that was easier to read and modify, but oh well.

Windows 8.

*sigh*

Games made with Game Maker 8.x tend to be less stable on computers with Windows 8, especially if multiple instances of a sound are playing at once.

Hopefully this will be rectified in a later version of SMF:R.

Windows 8.

Murphmario, I don't think Game Maker 8 games support Windows 8 or higher. This will be fixed in a new version of the game soon.

You go to the URL in the video description, download the zipped music, and extract the files from that zip to the game's music folder.

Come on they are Fusion Gameworks! They can make their own HUD.

Wow, Great Fangame, but one question.
Does your game have surpise Levels in it?

If you mean the Hand Trap levels, then yes. Level designers have made a few of them, myself included. There's a couple in World 1, as well as one in World 2 and World 4 if I recall correctly.

Would it be marked as a demo if it was?

@kirbywrap3: A minus world is planned but not implemented yet. HE4 has more features than 3 but I would instead recommend using an up-to-date version of Hello's engine (as 3 and 4's codebases are badly written--ask around if you need more details) or using a different Mario platformer engine entirely like Dragezeey's.

And you ought to edit your comments instead of posting several of them in a row. Multiposting is frowned upon in many civilized internet communities.

Cap'n, are you the same people who made Mushroom Kingdom Fusion?
Edit: Now I found most of the people in the readme.

Good to see you're keeping the cool SNK gfx.

Not entirely. JudgeSpear founded both projects but a few of us weren't official MKF developers. I made a few levels for it before the concept got a bit out of hand, but I was never more than a mere developer.

What? This game wasn't reviewed? Mine. I'm predicting/hoping that I won't be disappointed.
I'm not a fan of Hello's older engines but unless it's a problem, I won't let that touch the review.

Edit: review's up. :/

The chocobo mount has been completed, so expect a new release soon. Windows 8 users might still have issues, but we'll see about making a quick patch of that afterwards. We may need some playtesting help from Windows 8 users.

A re-review of this game is currently being conducting. Current review has been challenged and points explained, I agree with.

Having a HUD like that is just quick and easy. Try asking the Fusion Gameworks on how they did the HUD.
