General Commentary and Game Overview
So. I used to go on here for a bit and I've decided that I might hang out occasionally, primarily for the games. I figured that I might as well review something, so I set my sights on a relatively recent game: Super Mario Starshine.

Pros -Decent level design.
-Relatively fun sometimes.
-An alright first attempt.

Cons -Very generic.
-Physics are off.
-Clashing sprites and music.
-Glitched

Gameplay
4 / 10
The game is pretty basic. It's Mario. But it's off Mario. It's nowhere near as well done as most other fangames and feels less like an attempt at replicating Mario's controls and more like an attempt at replicating a cheap rip-off. You gotta get that Mario feel right or this game will NOT work.

I don't have a problem with the level design. It's a bit flat at times but there are some genuinely decent ideas level design wise that don't need an overhaul.

Graphics
2 / 10
Clashing. Really bad man. They aren't particularly great sprites either, and the graphical glitches are many. Focus on a single style and smooth out that style.

Sound
5 / 10
Pretty generic. The sound bites also clash. It's a 2D Mario game, so those sound bites feel weird. Nothing much to say. Get rid of the sound bites and you'll be alright.

I'm glad that you added Star Coins, that's a smart idea that not many demos really have. Some are actually kinda challenging to get.

Final Words
4 / 10
Some other reviews may be a bit snarky, but I think you can do better and I think you should try to do better. You gotta press on, and if you fix the primary problems, you have a decent, if generic, fangame.
