General Commentary and Game Overview
Many, many, many, MANY years after Mario and the cast died, the Mushroom Kingdom was as peaceful as it always was. However, the peace ended when Kamek came. Kamek is going to resurrect Bowser with the Starspheres! As Mario isn't around, could the Mushroom Kingdom be finally ruled by Bowser and his minions? Maybe, because one Toad has decided to stop Kamek.

Well, this is my 50th review. I decided to review something special for my 50th review, so I picked this game. Well, let's review, shall we?

Pros +Nice story
+Neat idea of the main gimmick
+Minigames
+Mushroom Medals for replay value
+YI-style bosses
+Great music choices

Cons -A lot of the graphics clash
-A couple bosses could use some more work

Impressions
Gameplay
9 / 10
As you might tell from the name, the main character this time is Toad. You have to get Toad to the Star Switch, without being taken out by the hazards. Toad can collect coins for 1-ups, and hit ? Blocks which contains coins. Some ? Blocks contain powerups. No, the powerups don't exactly work like how they do at the Mario platformer games. You don't lose them if you get hit, you lose them if you lose a life. You can keep three powerups at once which are Fire Flower, Hammer, and Yoshi. Of course, the Fire Flower lets you shoot fireballs, which lets you cook your enemies like a toaster! You can slam the hammer into the ground, and give those enemies very bad headaches. Ouch, I kind of feel bad for those enemies, but they are enemies. You can ride Yoshi, and give him some breakfast with those enemies. Don't worry if this feels too much for you, because you can switch between them, by putting the other two into your pocket (but wait, how would Yoshi fit in? Video game logic...). Oh, I forgot one more powerup. You can't keep it with the other three powerups, but it's a Super Star. Once you have collected a Super Star, you can ram into those enemies like a bowling ball.

The bosses are very good, and they are in YI-style, because it's basically a powered-up version of a enemy. They all seem to nearly balanced, it's just that the third boss took me a while. Oh, and it took me a long time to figure out what to do against the fourth boss. There is a glitch at the fifth boss, where Toad will sometimes refuse to throw the Bob-Omb (as it weighs too much for him). Besides those problems, the bosses are great and smart.

Before I move on to the graphics, I wanted to mention that every world hub has a minigame. You can get 1-ups from these minigames, so there is a point about them. I liked the ideas about them, especially the last one.

Graphics
8 / 10
Eh, the graphics aren't bad, but they aren't perfect in this game, because a lot of them clash. Really, we have SMB3 Toad, SMA Shy Guy, and a custom (to me, it's custom) Kamek that has a different style apart from the others. Those styles don't go well together.

Though, I like the transitions. I even think the world hub intros look good. Some of those effects are OKAY.

Overall, the graphics are good, they just need to be edited to look less clash-y.

Sound
8 / 10
Man, I love your choices on the music. I liked all of them, and they fit well.

Sounds are good too, even though, some of them are those overused SMAS sound effects. But since this is made in 2007, I can't judge too harshly on the overused SMAS sound effects. One more thing, I think Toad should have more than one voice effect for some of his actions. They aren't really annoying, but I still think you do what I suggested.

Well, I like your music choices. The sounds are good, just needs some tweaks.

Replay
9 / 10
Replay value, it's kind of good. Each level has a Mushroom Medal, which counts as replay value. Collecting all of the Mushrooms Medals in a world, will unlock a bonus level at that world. There is also those minigames, but I pretty much play them mostly for 1-ups. I'd suggest there should be high scores for the minigames.

Well, the only thing that is worth doing for TSB is the Mushroom Medals.

Final Words
10 / 10
As the name suggests, Toad has striked back with this great game!
