General Commentary and Game Overview
When I saw that this game received a 2/10 score from Somari64, I was shocked. Could this game have really been as bad? Especially considering it's satire to the very trilogy that gets scores these low? Turns out, this game does a good job at letting you know how far people actually got, because this small game's one and only boss battle at the end contradicts everything you've gone through to get there. Somari64 claims to have only played the first stage, and that's a no-no for reviewing ANY game, let alone this one.

The 4 or 5 stages the game has are unspectacular. In fact, they're very bland. The levels are weak, and the backgrounds are either ugly or nonexistent. The best you get out of the traditional Mario gameplay is the usual Goomba-stomping action, but not more.

And then, when you approach the boss battle, the game pretty much changes its identity. The boss itself isn't really that fine-tuned, but it's surprisingly creative and a it's bit more of a genuine challenge to avoid its projectiles. Even better - As you progress in defeating the boss, the background builds up into pure EPICNESS, complementing the boss battle finely.

Pros -The boss battle
-Control is unharmed

Cons -No power-ups
-Level design is very uninteresting
-Graphics in said levels are off-putting
-If this game's going to be satire, it needs to be able to make fun of things about the MBB games while also being fun in its own right. I don't believe this game makes an effort on that regard.

Impressions
Gameplay
5 / 10
The 2D running and jumping formula is still here, except there's no power-ups other than Mushrooms, which give you a hit point. The levels bog down the experience for me, as I kept hoping there would be something interesting along the way while fighting through these easy and bland environments.

Fortunately, something interesting DID happen, but did it pay off? Probably not. But now that I know it's there, I can safely recommend you to play if you're curious.

Graphics
4 / 10
This would have been a 2/10 if it wasn't for the scenery the boss battle constructs.

Sound
5 / 10
Mega Man MIDIs that overstay their welcome, and ho-hum Mario sounds.
At least the boss battle contributes in this area as well.

Replay
2 / 10
The boss battle, while neat, isn't really enough to give this whole game another chance.

Final Words
5 / 10
When playing through the few levels the game had, I was unimpressed. It was just average Mario gameplay drenched in weak scenery and level design.

And then the boss battle happened.
