General Commentary and Game Overview
This game has a lot of potential and is a great sequel to its predecessor. The old power-ups from the first game seem fresh again with the great new graphics, and the new thorn ability is great, but the items feel a little overpowered. Also, the fact that Polter can act similar to a Yoshi is just plain cool! The level design was great, but sometimes it felt like you were trapped in the normal dimension. The music is amazing! Great remixes and good music choices. I really like the Super Mario 64 approach of the levels, i.e. different missions in each level.

Pros Great mechanics, amazing music, good level design, great graphics upgrade, added more use to Polter, and cool power-ups.

Cons Sometimes you're kind of trapped in a dimension, items are a little too overpowered.

Impressions
Gameplay
9 / 10
The game plays very smoothly with no lag. Mario responds to controls almost instantly, but I've had problems with running. The dimension switching, and Polter-Yoshi mechanics are used in ways to make you get used to them.

Graphics
10 / 10
The graphics are a huge improvement that really makes this game better than the original, but Mario and Luigi seem very bored. I also noticed that that the Polter icon in the corner looks surprised/upset when Mario dies, which is a cute touch.

Sound
10 / 10
The music is amazing! From Super Mario Strikers pause music, to Paper Mario TTYD music, to remixes of classic SMB3 music.

Replay
9 / 10
The game gives you reason to go back into each level by giving you star coins to search for in both dimensions and more energy drops to get in different missions.

Final Words
9 / 10
In the end, this is a game that stays true to it's predecessor, and adds a lot of new things. I'm really looking forward to this game. Keep it up!
