General Commentary and Game Overview
If I recall correctly, Zero Kirby once said that games forcing you to install files before playing are usually terrible.

This game redefines terrible, by refusing to work for me beyond the title screen. Games ought to have a positive experience, but this one makes me angry and ashamed of giving Mario's Minigame Mayhem a -2 overall score, because AT LEAST THAT GAME WORKED.

Pros + You at least tried in the graphics department, as far as I can tell

Cons - The game uses an installer, which extracts exactly two files. One of them is the uninstaller. Why couldn't you just use ZIP?
- Game refuses to accept SPACE key input on some computers, which renders the game unplayable
- Not that you'd want to play it anyway, based on other reviews

Impressions
Gameplay
1 / 10
It's hard for me to say anything about the gameplay for the actual game, because the game refuses to let me play at all.

Seriously. The title screen says to press SPACE, but nothing happens. Even pressing C+SPACE which was recommended by a commenter did nothing. I methodically pressed every single key on the keyboard and the game refused to continue from there.

Quality control must have been lucky to get it to work, because I couldn't. And I'm not the only one with this problem, as the comments indicate.

natty777, you've claimed to make better things since then, but... well, either you didn't or the things you made aren't on MFGG, as this is your only submission. I honestly don't know how you managed to design your game in such a way that pressing one freaking key doesn't register on all computers. Congratulations, I guess.

Graphics
3 / 10
Judging from the graphics on the screenshot and the title screen, the graphics here are... well, they aren't glorious, but at least some effort was put into them. Unfortunately I can't say a whole lot on the matter.

Sound
3 / 10
The title screen has an unremarkable MIDI for music. It's a mighty shame I can't comment on anything else.

Replay
1 / 10
Does "repeatedly running the executable to see if it finally cooperates" count? No? Good.

Final Words
1 / 10
Move on, nothing to see here--you might not even get to play it.

You can't review a game you haven't played.

You can't review a game you haven't played.

On the contrary, I would like to point out that I in fact can review a game I was not able to play by submitting such a review and having it accepted by the mainsite staff. Furthermore, there is no rule against reviewing games that you find to be utterly unplayable.

Had I been the only one to find the game utterly unplayable, I might not have given it this scathing review almost two years ago. Today, I'm not sure if I would have bothered writing it. Nonetheless, it is here--and unless the site staff take issue with its existence, it is here to stay.
