General Commentary and Game Overview
I haven't felt the need to review a game on MFGG since 2008. DJ Coco's Paper Mario 3D Land not only brings back the old feel of Paper Mario, but it also instills a modern style of gameplay. I haven't played a fangame on this site that I truly enjoyed in a long time, so Dj Coco hats off to you!

Pros +Tight movement
+Good level design
+Good assets (textures/sounds/ect)
+Matching graphical styles

Cons -Poor default controls
-Levels became too hard too quickly.

Impressions
Gameplay
8 / 10
Once I figured out S was the default key to start the game, I began playing the first level. My first impression was the game would be a nice paper-mario themed game, but as I played I felt a nice style which mimicked a modern Super Mario Land 3d feel.

However, I did feel as though the levels became too hard too fast. It took me a try or two to complete level 1, and I still am unable to finish level 2.

Graphics
10 / 10
The style of the game was nice. All textures felt to have a similar color palette which eliminated clashing graphics. I liked the custom paper mario character graphics, like the Rat Mario :)

Sound
9 / 10
The sound was well done. Nothing sounded awkward whilst playing, and everything had a proper sound effect; footsteps, fireballs, blocks breaking, enemies dying, ect.

Replay
8 / 10
While I didn't finish the game, I gave levels one and two a good 10 tries so far. The game doesn't get stale, and I will definitely try to finish it some time!

Final Words
9 / 10
Dj Coco, great job on this fangame! It's rare to see some create an indie game that has tight movement, visual eye candy, good sounds, and great gameplay. Great job!

Rat Mario? It's a mole, hence the digging ability (and the lack of rat ears/tail).
