General Commentary and Game Overview
Ok, before I start this, I just wanna let you guys know that I haven't played any of the previous demos, so I can't make comparisons. Maybe later on I'll play those versions and compare the differences, but until then, no.

Anyway, let's get to the review.

Pros -Pretty graphics
-Multiple playable characters
-It ends at just the right place
-The DSe
-Takko
-The soundtrack

Cons -Questionable difficulty spike in the second world
-Some of the sprites clash at times
-WHAT'S BOWSER DOING HERE?!

Impressions
Gameplay
8 / 10
The gameplay and controls are pretty simple. It combines a lot of 2D Mario gameplay styles and enhances them, giving the characters more abilities than before. Each character has a special ability (Example: Mario has the wall jump, Wario has his Body Slam from the Wario Land series, etc.), which are useful in their own ways. The physics feel pretty smooth, but are still a little slippery at times.

Graphics
9 / 10
All of the graphics in the game are custom-made. The art style itself is quite interesting; It looks like a combination of a DS game and an SNES game. Some of the sprites clash, and the Toads look weird, but overall not too bad.

Sound
8 / 10
The soundtrack in this game, like the graphics, are all completely new songs. No Koji Kondo pieces to see here, folks. They're all from the best of the best musical composers here at MFGG. Although I feel like the soundtrack suffers from what I like to call "Newer Super Mario Bros. Wii Syndrome". This is where the music is new and custom-made, but it feels a little off. It feels like there's an instrument or two missing.

Replay
10 / 10
After you've finished the demo, you're able to freely play any of the levels from the first two worlds that you want. See, people? THIS is how you add replay ability! Being able to play any level as any character means that you can go to places you couldn't originally. Why can't more demos be like this?!

Final Words
8 / 10
Overall, this is a solid demo. You definitely need to try it out. Can't wait to see it at MCFC 2014!

I never said Newer's soundtrack was bad, I said it was a bit off.
