General Commentary and Game Overview
I'm not normally in the mood for fangames on this site to be honest, but I saw this little gem and for once got off my lazy @$$ and downloaded it. And from a video gamer's standpoint, best decision ever. Right from the get-go, the game's graphics pulled me in. I love the little things snuck in the game, and the music, that beautiful music.
Smbmaster99, release a soundtrack or something, that forest remix was bad@$$.

Pros +Retells SMB in a new and unique fashion.
+Isn't a Hello or Dragzeezy clone in the sense of most Hello-based or Dragzeezy-based fangames.
+Graphics are eye-catching.
+The story was changed in a VERY good fashion.

Cons -Music can get a bit repetitive...
-The game can get a bit unfair at certain parts.
-When you restart after a game over, it gives you the amount of lives you had before, which can lead to multiple game overs in a row.

Impressions
Gameplay
9 / 10
This game runs REALLY smoothly, almost like that new car someone's neighbor has that isn't broken into, it's so smooth. I haven't gotten lag on this game. At all. Even my piece-of-crap computer can run this! The only reason I'm giving Gameplay an nine is because of the controls. I'm used to the easy option of the Z and X keys, so when I opened the game without getting at least an optional control menu, I sadly spent the first few minutes going "What the f#$% are the controls?!"*
Otherwise, GREAT in this department!

*I didn't realize at first that smbmaster99 even said F1 displays controls, so sorry.

Graphics
10 / 10
These visuals are just stellar. No, seriously. Is this all made by smbmaster99? If so, HUGE props, because this is great! I loved how the backgrounds in-game scrolled as you moved, and weren't just one static image. Nothing looks out of place at all. Easy 10.

Sound
9 / 10
Hey, for once music that doesn't sound like a bull crapped it out! Great! I love the music choices, especially when I could recognize all the classic-but-remastered tunes from those original Mario games. Sadly, some of the music gets repetitive, but maybe that's because I take too long to complete Mario levels, but oh well. That's why I give Sound

Replay
10 / 10
As I haven't gotten far enough in the game to replay much, I like what I see so far. It's actually pretty enjoyable to go back through the levels and search for that one Star Medal you missed back in that one hard level. VERY replayable. I even heard there were minigames, which can add to the replayability, but we'll see.

Final Words
9 / 10
Basically, worth your time and download. Give it a try, you'll love it right from that first startup.
