General Commentary and Game Overview

This game caught my eye because A. I'll try anything and B. it looks absolutely beautiful. So, hey, if the graphics are beautiful, I thought that the rest of the game might be great as well.

So is it? Well...

Pros	-Incredibly good looking. -Polished.
Cons	-Immensely generic.

Impressions

Gameplay 5 / 10	The game is named "Universe". That would imply a much grander scale. And that is NOT what the game delivers. I can get down with the controls. The game is very polished, you won't fall through floors or any of that garbage. But the game also has no heart or originality to it. The level design is rather generic, the power ups are same old same old, and the level themes are a snorefest. If I wanted New Super Mario Bros, I'd play New Super Mario Bros, thank you very much.
Graphics 10 / 10	I think it's worth the download for the great graphics alone. Everything looks beautiful, the animations are smooth, and the effects are a treat for the eyes.
Sound 7 / 10	It's the same old same old. Good audio quality, but like the gameplay, nothing innovative.
Replay 8 / 10	A good amount for a demo. There are a good number of levels and each level has Rainbow Stars to collect.

Final Words

I feel completely ambivalent towards this game. It's polished and beautiful looking, but it's so generic and boring.

I personally crave more from my fangames, but if you are looking for a good NSMB styled game, I'd say this'll work.
