Basic Platformer Engine By: WreckingGoomba [W]
I created a basic, yet smooth platformer engine. It features solids, topsolids, slopes (45 and 22.5 degree), enemies and overall smooth movement. The .zip contains files for Game Maker 8.0, Game Maker 8.1 and Game Maker Studio. Credit is appreciated, but not necessary.
Target Applications: GM8 GMS

(It's been years since I have been in this page XD)...

Your engine is simply MARVELOUS!!. Everything is so clear. You can't get lost :D!
Many thanks for this!! I'm going to use it if you don't mind, and of course giving you credit.

...But I just have a little problem, and it is that I can't listen to the sounds of gmk8. Maybe you could know why does this happen? (I know it has nothing to do with your engine).

Never mind the sound problem, I fixed it... Now I want to change the mask sprite to a mask of 22 bits of width and 22 bits of height inserted in a sprite of 48x48 bits with the base at the bottom of it... (Did I explain well?) Without changing the collision sprites. How could I make that? If you could help I would be infinitely greateful!
Thanks

Oh yeah, I didn't add any sound to the game because I wanted it to be, as the title suggests, very basic.
About the sprite problem, the collision code should work with any sprite shape. I assume it didn't work without modifying any code? In that case, I will need to look into the code again and fix it. My apologizes for that, I will PM you a fix as soon as possible (as well as submit it here, but the queue may take a while).
EDIT: Apparantly changing the sprites to 22x22 in size works just fine with me, are you sure that has caused the problem? You do need to be sure the X origin is in the center and the Y origin is the sprite height - 16. This is to make the player spawn on the ground properly, and the code is built around that.

I didn't take a look at the code because I'm lazy, but it looks good for the most part. Can't say I'm a fan of the clunky stagger-toward-wall/warp-to-jump through collisions, though.

When launching Game Maker Studio, select the Import tab and import the .GMZ file.

This is plays so much like your Game Maker Sonic Tutorial. Anyway, nice job! Less glitchy than some of your tutorials.
