General Commentary and Game Overview
Super Mario Kart for the GBA has finally been ported into a fangame. Oh wait. Disclaimer first.
This review is of my opinion. Please do not take it personally. Thank you.

Ok. Down to business. DJ COCO: PLEASE DON'T STOP WORKING ON THIS. Is what I'd like to say but clearly your declaration to never touch this again is clear in your description. Due to that, this review will seem a lot harsher than it should. Sorry man.

Pros Graphics. Looking good I guess.
Idea --it look like you were once determined to put an actual good Mario Kart fan game out there.

Cons Mechanics!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Mechanics. Yes, again.
Lack of sound effects.
Lack of polish (as stated by the owner)

Impressions
Gameplay
4 / 10
You said you didn't want to polish this. However, there were a few things that would've taken five minutes to do before submitting. And that's sound effects. Like, the coins, the driving, and few other things. It was like playing a Mario Kart engine test that went right for the most part but the owner at the end was like "screw it" Come on :(
The mechanics-
Good lord, I couldn't enjoy the game fully because of them. I played all of your tracks. ALL OF THEM! Getting a higher place is a chore due to: turning (big problem). It felt very unnatural compared to other Mario Kart games (whether real or fangame, super mario kart, etc.) Drifting? Driving? I know you didn't polish this but hell, how do you expect me to win? Or at least enjoy myself. I don't play fan games to review or bash them. I'm trying to find fun from a blast-of-the-past Mario.
Not that my goal has anything to do with the matter at hand XD, but yeah,
the mechanics and the lack of sound killed it for me.

Graphics
7 / 10
I saw a few minor clashes but they obviously were intended to put decoration into the stage whether it's shyguys from Yoshi's Island or whatever. But for the most part, the graphics looked like good. Mario Kart 64 or Mario Kart from the GBA/DS series. Does it matter? No. They were implemented alright. Not perfect but good.

Sound
4 / 10
Meh...
No seriously, this sound was almost ignored in this game. You gotta remember: humans mainly see these things -- Graphics, mechanics and sound effects in a videogame experience. I bet you put a lot of hardwork into your coding. Nevertheless, we only can judge it by those three things xD. And man did this lack sound. Had a few sound effects, the music and what not. But there was a lot missing from it. Hell, why bother seeing if this will bring a new or different Mario Kart experience when an emulator download is right around the corner.

Replay
2 / 10
It's not that I wouldn't replay this (if the game was polished) but in this version, I really can't. Like, it was made to say "this was what I was interested in a little bit but now, meh." The mechanics are brutal. I can't touch this ever again.

Final Words
5 / 10
A game that really needs to be polished to allow it's users to enjoy it fully. Otherwise, why bother with it when there are other polished Mario Kart Games out there?
