General Commentary and Game Overview
Super Mario Flashback succeeded in becoming an interesting part of the MFGG community. Despite only being a simple demo, this already has the potential to be an amazing fan game, along the likes of Paper Mario 3D Land and Psycho Waluigi (MFGG's arguably most popular fan games in terms of exposure).

Pros The presentation and gameplay shine as a love letter to all different Mario fans: 2D or 3D, Retro or Modern, something is here for you, and that isn't easy to accomplish. Although, and this is my personal opinion, there should be more of a reference to SMB3, since it's my favorite game of all time. That's just me, though.

Cons As for everything wrong with the demo, minor bugs, the replay value, and the occasional sensitivity of the controls, while noticeable, are far from game/deal-breaking. Although, they should be addressed.

Impressions
Gameplay
10 / 10
This is easily the game's strongest suit. The controls, despite the previously mentioned sensitive controls, it only happens rarely and their pretty much perfect other than that. As for the actual gameplay, as mentioned previously, it is a perfect combination of almost every main series Mario game out there, and I mean that in the best way possible.

Graphics
10 / 10
I will just say this upfront: This is easily one of the most professionally made fan games I have ever seen in terms of graphics. I don't care much for this part of games, but this entire game is some of the greatest eye candy I've ever bore witness to. Believe me when I say this game really does look like something Nintendo would make.

Sound
9 / 10
Despite being mostly remixes and slightly generic, the soundtrack to SMF is very well composed and I will very proudly admit there were many times where I hummed along to the music. There isn't much to say, seeing as there aren't many songs in the game (Roughly 5 in total), but just know that so far, this soundtrack shows VERY high promise.

Replay
6 / 10
Admittedly, replay value is one of the game's main faults. Once you get the six stars in the demo, there isn't much left to do, other than getting the easily obtainable and useless A rank on every stage. Yes, this is a demo, but it should be fixed in the final game if possible.

Final Words
9 / 10
tl;dr The potential for a fantastic game is in this demo and I recommend that everyone try it out purely for what it could become.
