General Commentary and Game Overview
The contents of this review is of my own opinion. Please do not take it personal.

I played this game. And well.. I have to say there are both good and bad feats to it.

So let's have a look at it.

Note a few bugs: game crashes sometimes but it is probably because windows 8.1 was simply a spawn from Hell. Why'd you create this mess Microsoft. This was unneeded. Windows 7 worked fine -_- *Ahem* To the game review.

Pros Level design x 50
Graphics x 10
Idea
What it's offering as a game. (Nice menu system, world map, etc.)

Cons Story-line x 50
Bosses
A few bugs here or there (such as when Mario jumped on a small slope, he sort of hanged there and got stuck). It's a very rare thing though.

Impressions
Gameplay
8 / 10
The game play is like a Mario game XD: Get to the midway point, then the goal flag at the end; On the way collect 3 star coins. Nothing new here. Not bad though. It feels more like a sequel to Super Mario Ztar Curse - as it includes the loved (at least I love it) tornado flower and a few similar elements.

-Story-line: going to be honest, this was wasn't too good (dialogue wise). From the cutscenes with Bowser to the scene where Peach is like, "hey Mario. Screw you. You're going to travel across the entire world alone to collect orbs that many have no clue about. Special orbs right? Something is special about them. What? No idea. Just something thrown in there to make it feel like a big adventure, right. By the way, hahaha, have fun with that."
Seriously, the cutscenes are WELL animated but the dialogue isn't to my taste but that's my opinion. It's okay for the kids.
I give points to the author for including a BACKSPACE TO SKIP button. THANK YOU. No seriously, I'm really glad the owner of this game is one of the few that actually gives one the option to skip cutscenes.

-Level Design: Short, sweet, pretty. This is my personal taste and it was done right in this game. Don't let my review on the story-line make you forget that I liked everything else in the game XD. And well.. the levels were just pretty. Now there are a few "eh..meh's" now and then but that's in few.
- Bosses: Normally, I don't include these in a review, because bosses are well, bosses. They're able to do whatever they want. But let's go over a few of them for examples:
Boom-boom- this is probably the worst boss in the game. It simply runs back and forth while torturing you with horrible music. Strategically this is brilliant on his behalf but holy crap man, I was like "hurry --for the love of everything, just die already."
King mole was ok. A bit boring but was much MUCH better than Boombooom. Very simplistic though I believe only 3 HP should be the standards for anything outside of the final boss (or a rival boss)
Like, I never really though of this in the past, but 3 HP really is the best settings for a normal boss. Now a-days, bosses take forever to kill even if the pattern is repetitive. (Not saying these do) .
King Blooper: Arguably a terrible but creative boss. In fact, the only thing really wrong with this one is Mario himself. Him not being able to grab in this game is quite a hindrance. Sorry man, even if you don't want to program it, I have to ding you for what you tried to replace his grabbing with.

King Walrus:
The Walrus fort was my favorite stage in the game. Let's just be honest. It's awesome. Don't lie. You know it is.
King Walrus boss was funny. BUT, sadly, I couldn't figure out how to beat phase 2. Seriously, no hints or nothing, the game just expects for one to instantly figure out how to beat him. King Walrus can't be jumped on.. Maybe I either forgot a something, forgot a moveset or what?
Other than those nicks, the gameplay is just fine.

Graphics
8 / 10
Pretty. All appear to be custom made. Just graphically appealing... Not much to say other than good work.

Sound
8 / 10
Sound is good. Liked the Mario Party 3 music in the first cutscene. Like the Koopa Bros boss music. Liked all but 1 song in the game, pretty much. Sound effects are good. Standard and working.

Replay
6 / 10
It's a demo but you're able to access all the stages given to you expect for world 4. So cheaters, you gotta put effort in this world XD. That aside, there's not much going on yet. Levels aren't really worth revisiting after you collect all the star coins. Unless you want to play through more of the good level design.

Final Words
8 / 10
This game is well made. With some polish, it should knock the socks off you. Make sure you play the Walrus Fortress. Seriously, you gotta play it.

Thanks for the review!
I'll probably change the BoomBoom music in that case, if it was really annoying you in the first battle already, it's no good. Did you download the music pack though? It includes better music for BoomBoom and other levels/bosses. Anyway, I'll replace the MIDI.
As for King Walrus, I should indeed make it more obvious how to beat him. You have to hit the red orbs and fire back the particles at him. I'm still considering how to make this more obvious though.
I tried programming carrying, but due to this game's not-so-smooth collision engine, it didn't work, so unfortunately this is all I can do for the King Blooper boss.
I'm glad you liked the game though!

I probably missed it (the music pack). Besides those nics, I'm predicting this game to be on my 9/10-10/10 list because I really liked it. Especially the world map and menu system. Keep this up and I can't wait for the finished product.

You persuaded everyone to play Walrus Fortress - that's one of VinnyVideo's favorite things to do when playing it!
