General Commentary and Game Overview
This is one of those games where I have no clue what the intention of this game was. I guess when it comes to fangames, though, you'd be wasting your time thinking about such things.

Pros + not glitchy
+ nice sounds
+ original artwork
+ original gameplay
+ beat'em and eat'em

Cons - ugly visuals
- mundane level designs
- stupid enemies
- game over
- game over
- game over
- no music

Impressions
Gameplay
5 / 10
If I were to guess, what with the weird slenderman-with-eyes that bloody up when you hit them with your laser sword, this game was to supposed to have a creepy vibe to it. There's really no story to this game, and when you beat it, nothing special really happens other than "the end?" appearing on the screen. Maybe there's more to this game, but I'm not willing to trudge through the bulls*** it takes to explore and find it.
Which leads to the next topic, the actual gameplay. As per usual in your average Mario fangame, you get your choice between Mario and Luigi. Mario has 3 hearts (the representative for health) as opposed to Luigi's 2 hearts, but Luigi has a higher jump- in other words, Mario is "massacre mode" while Luigi is "pacifist mode" because all the enemies are grounded and Mario can't jump high enough to avoid any of them while Luigi is best trying to avoid as much fighting as he can. The only enemies you have to fight are the gorilla-turtles and the one-eyed Goombas (who don't get knocked back when you hit them so unless you time your two swings perfectly you're gonna get hit).
I don't know if it's a bad design choice or just bad programming, but either way you're gonna want to avoid getting a game over as much as you can. Once you see that screen, you're be seeing it again right away after you restart the game. Eventually if you try enough times, you can legitimately restart the game, but only as Luigi, even if you selected Mario. And you can't simply hit the ESC key to exit, because that would be too mainstream. Instead, you're gonna have to close it via task manager... that is, if you put this game in fullscreen, but more on that later.
That's really all there is to say. If you do play as Luigi and decide to hop over everything, you're missing out on what I see is one of the main themes of the game.

Graphics
6 / 10
Ha ha, graphics. The artwork is original, but that doesn't make them inherently good; everything is super pixelated and just generally ugly, even Mario and Luigi. The Koopa Troopas look like monkeys wearing a shell and the Hammer Man (I'd say Bro, but there must have been a budget cut and the other one had to be removed) was barely recognizable. The big slenderman in the background was kind of annoying as well.

Sound
6 / 10
There was no music, but I think that was intentional seeing as how this is clearly a deep and heavily themed game. The sound effects were cool though.

Replay
1 / 10
Unless you like seeing the game over screen without playing the game, I suggest you give this only one shot. It makes for a decent hack-and-slash, but the game is too short and the enemies uninteresting.

Final Words
5 / 10
It's a game that thinks it's something that is really isn't. I feel that on MFGG the worse a game looks, the more critically acclaimed it gets. Originality should only allow you to get so far.
