General Commentary and Game Overview
Super Mario and the Sacred Bells is a traditional platformer fangame. You can play as either Mario, Luigi, or Peach as you travel the world in search of "Sacred Bells."

Pros +Identical to Mario platformers without using a pre-made engine
+Fun boss battles
+Fun levels
+Changing music themes, which aren't bad on the ears
+Many long, well-made levels

Cons -Some boss fights are too difficult

Impressions
Gameplay
10 / 10
This game had everything a Mario platformer needed: original powerups, different enemies, boss fights, different playable characters, and a solid engine to wrap it all up. I especially liked the bomb powerup. I'm not sure if this was intentional or not, but I noticed you go into Waluigi's clothing once you acquire it. Though this probably isn't too relevant, the Goombas stand still when you're at a slight distance away from them. But yeah, with that said, excellent gameplay.

Graphics
8 / 10
The graphics were pretty neat as well, actually. There was just a bit of a clash with the sprites. For example, Mario and Luigi were custom sprites, but you used Peach's sprite from SPP. Also another minor thing, the Banditos (small orange enemies from Wario Land games) were too small and seemed to clash as well. Otherwise, the graphics weren't a disappointment at all.

Sound
9 / 10
The music wasn't a let-down in the least. Each level usually had its own little jingle, and the music wasn't recycled that much. The music also related to the game, which was good. On another note, the sound effects were well-placed and everything worked alright together.

Replay
8 / 10
I'd definitely try to finish more worlds later on. But once I do, I probably wouldn't play the whole thing over again.

Final Words
9 / 10
Sacred Bells is one of MFGG's better Mario fangames, and is definitely worth a try.
